Before I start, I want to thank @LouiseXminerX with helping me think about this story I am writing. It's something I want to do and I'm thankful to her for helping me with this. Also, the stories I want to write will include those who want to be in it, so please leave comments or requests if you want to be in it with some character info. Now without further ado, this is the introduction to my first fictional story: Introduction: FreeFallingI don’t know what happened or how I got here. I just woke up like this. I don’t know why all I see is darkness. It’s just pure darkness, and I can’t see anything beyond it. It really frustrates me that I can’t see. It’s been like that for a few hours, but then a really bright, white light appears. It gradually envelops me until I see something that looks like a glass ceiling. I curl up to protect myself from shards while closing my eyes tightly. I knew this was the end for me, but I wait, and wait, and wait. Then I hear music: Some whimsical music that anyone would want to dance to. I don’t even hear a thud of the ground, but I open my eyes to something that made my head spin violently.
Thanks Louise! I'll add you in after this chapter @nala ! I hope you don't mind :D The new character in this chapter is @LouiseXminerX ! These chapters will start to get longer and longer as time goes by. I just had the time on my hands to upload two chapters in one day. Chapter 1: WelcomeToDenpeIt was a town: A lively village where everyone seemed to be having a good time. Every building and wall was made of either wood or stone, and the town appeared to be built half-a-mile from a mountain and another half from the ocean. “Uhm. Hey!” I yell to a nearby villager. She turns and says, “Oh, you’re not from around here are you? This is Denpe, the liveliest town on the planet!” “Huh, ok,” I replied, “Oh can you help me? I’m lost and I have no idea what to do.” “Okay! I’m Louise! You can stay at the inn my family owns until you see fit!” Louise said. We walk over to the inn and she shows me a room, and I say, “Thank you so much again for this. Oh and my name's Kono.” She says, “No problem! With the festival coming up, we want all the rooms to be filled!” She leaves before I inquire about the festival. “They must be really busy. I guess its just fate that I’m here.” I mutter to myself. I lie on the bed and feel something poking my thigh. I check my pockets to find a dagger, a pen, and a small journal. Without thinking, I decide to start writing in the journal. Thanks for reading! If you want a part, I will gladly put you in! Please leave feedback as I want to continue developing this story.
I need to start writing chapters with more dialogue. Anyway, next chapter: Chapter 2: IntoTheForestI told Louise I’d step out for a bit to check out the town and outside. She gave me a map of the town and outskirts so I wouldn’t get lost and warned me about why the town had walls. She said something about monsters and how I would get locked out at night, what poppycock! Monsters don’t exist and I know that as a fact. The guards warn me to have a weapon of some sort before heading outside, so I showed them my dagger as proof. They must have no experience since daggers aren’t very dangerous, yet they still let me through. I just didn’t want to be confined to the inside the whole time. It’s been a few days since I crash-landed into the town. Everyone and everything was so lively. Louise insisted that I stay at least till the festival’s finished. I haven’t even asked her about that yet. The least I can do for her family is help around, so I just decided to find anything I can find outside of town. It must’ve been around noon when I left the walls, and yet I still decide to check out the nearby forest situated near the ocean. Just a few steps into the dark forest and I knew I was being watched. I tried to stay alert, but something, or someone, pushed me into a hole. I thought I had enough of these “rabbit hole” things for a while. When I gained consciousness, there was a cat in the hole with me. My preference for animals told me to treat it well, so I greeted the cat, “Hello.” The cat was so cute. It looked really familiar, like from another dimension. But the strangest thing happened: “Well, hello to you too!” I'm gonna need more characters, so please don't hesitate to ask if you want to be in the story! Comments and feedback are always welcome! :D Edit: I'd hate to double post, so....
Thank you so much @nala ! Oh here's your chapter with you in it! Don't worry @LouiseXminerX , you'll come again soon. I think you're in the next chapter. Chapter 3: TheForetellerI think I've blacked out more times this week than any other before. All I remember is a cat in some hole. I wake up to find myself in a hole so it must not be a dream. My first inclination is to go find that cat. But is it really true that that cat can talk?! It perplexes me to understand it at all. And out of nowhere the cat from before appeared and I jumped and screamed, "Oh gods, I'll do anything! Just help me out of this madness!" Then suddenly the cat started to glow and change form. I turn and squat into a fetal position and cried, "Oh no it's evolving. I've really gone crazy! No science can help me out here!" "Hey," a voice said, "You okay?" I quickly turn to find a girl in her teens wearing a purple robe and holding a staff. I'm just stunned at that point and thought, "Magic really does exist here." "Hello? Earth to- whoever you are." "Oh I'm so sorry, I'm Kono," I reply. "Huh, not the kind of name I expect from around these parts. I'm nala and I watch over these woods. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" "I have no idea actually. I live in an inn in town currently, but before that, I don't know. It sounds crazy, but I fell from the sky." I replied. nala looked shocked at this point and signaled me to follow her. She walked through a wall, and my curiosity piqued me, but I just continued to follow her. We walked for around half-an-hour and we finally arrived at where she wanted us to be. "Umm.... I'm going to explain a certain legend that's been in my mind for quite some time." she said, "Okay. About ten thousand years ago, a great cataclysm brought what was once here great misfortune. The cataclysm was brought by none other than a dragon, and that dragon is sleeping in the mountainous area beyond the lively town. Fire and destruction was all that was brought in those times. Then the dragon went to sleep but vowed to return if he was ever disturbed. In visions I picture a town full of decaying bodies and a fiery hell. I fear that the dragon will awaken again because of the festivities in the town. This is the ten thousandth year of peace between the humans and the dragon, but humans bite off more than they can chew. This forest used to stretch to the middle of Denpe, but now my power is reduced. Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk about my troubles. Anyway, you might as well stay the night. You were out for a few hours and it's getting dark. Hatred and sadness manifests into ghastly beings out at night. The dark does that to them. Hey, are you even listening!?" "Huh? All I heard was something about a dragon and how the town's gonna be turned to flame." I said. "Ok you got the main point. I'll set up a bed for you. I sense something within you, but I'm too weak for this right now." nala said. Please leave feedback and comments! If you want to be in the story, I really need more characters. Please don't hesitate! Oh I hope someone replies. I hate double posting.
Once again, an amazing chapter! I just love how so many great stories are made cause of mine... *sniff*
I didn't expect you two, @TheBlackHamood and @Xeno, to request honestly. I can still fit you in of course! But not at the moment. :( Anyway, I guess I'll just start Chapter 4 then! Chapter 4: JournalHoldersI hate waking up. Especially when I'm laying on this bed. Well, beggars can't be choosers, and I'm not choosy at all. nala was still sleeping from the looks of it, and I didn't want to be rude, so I just waited around while writing in the mysterious journal I found. But then I noticed something strange. In the black light of the cave, there was some writing on the front of the blue journal that said, "Keep at all times. This will be your key to finding the others as well as what will keep you from danger." Nothing else was written in or in the back of the journal. It was quite mysterious that this book just wound up in my pocket; it's like a stranger just slipped this in here and is playing a really bad prank on me. I don't even know- "YOU HAVE ONE?" I jumped up just to find that it was nala. "JEEZ nala! You scared me!" I said to the sorcerer. "Oh, my bad. I just got really excited because I have one too!" nala said. We're both looking at each other with blank, expressionless faces until I finally ask, "So, any idea as to what these things are? Like if someone's playing a cruel joke on us?" "Nope! No clue. I haven't been completely honest actually. Now let me ask. Did you just happen to wake up in a strange place like this cave and then find the journal in your pocket?" nala said while taking out a purple book of some sort. "Umm, well it was the strangest thing ever. It felt like I was falling out of the sky and I just woke up in Denpe," I said, "and then I just found this journal while laying down at an inn-" Oh no; I just realized Louise is going to get worried that I've been gone for so long. She probably thinks I've come across a monster or died! "Why do you keep doing that? I feel that you phase between two worlds and you constantly think about someone when doing it." nala said. "I have a lot on my mind from time to time. That and it's really hard for me to let something go. I should head back to town." I said. "Okay! I'm just gonna continue gathering strength. There's just something that you should know though. This journal actually told me who I am and what my purpose is in this world, yet you don't seem to have any restrictions." nala said. "Wait, what? My journal didn't tell me anything about my purpose." I said. Feeling left out, I ask, "Am I able to read what was written?" nala replied, "Oh, it just says something about being a magic-wielder and protecting the forest from danger and whatnot." "Okay. Well these journals sure are mysterious things. I really should be heading out." I said. "Okay. I'll escort you to the hole you fell through. Just enter the blue portal and it'll take you outside. I don't know how it works. It's a secret to everybody." nala said. We walk back to the room I saw her as a cat and she gave me a charm to remember her by. I asked, "What does this charm do?", and she replied, "It wards off evil spirits, duh! It actually gives good luck when you need it the most. Well, I'll see you later!" I step into the blue portal and appear where I was yesterday. I run quickly back to Denpe to do some investigating about the legends nala told me about. Thanks for reading! I'm going to need a villain in a later part, so if you want to be the main villain, please sign up. :D Oh, and please leave feedback and comments! Edit: Oh jeez I hope people see this: Your personality and other things will be based off of your forums posts, your profile pic, username, etc.
I think I'll try to maintain a schedule of a chapter every one or two days. I realize that chapters 1 and 2 have been short, so I'll try to make the chapters as long as the ones recently posted. Thanks for waiting! I've been sort of busy recently. Returning character: @LouiseXminerX Chapter 5: LegendsUntoldThe guards looked as diligent as they were the day before I fell down that hole and met nala. They must keep a record of who goes in and out the town walls because they looked really surprised to see me. Heh heh, they probably thought I died due to the monsters. I run back to the inn and go inside to see Louise tending to customers. She sees me, screams, and curls up into a ball on the floor. "OH NO! Thanks to me you're dead! I shouldn't have let you go!" the inn-worker says. "Umm.... Louise, it's me, Kono. And I'm not dead!" I reply. "Are you sure?" Louise says while reaching out to see if I'm a ghost or not, and she screams again. I cover her mouth and ask, "Jeez, is there anyone else living in this inn?" "Oh I'm sorry. Of course there's other people living here, silly. It's just that I got really, really worried when you didn't return from the outside and I saw you. Isn't it natural to think you're hallucinating in these types of situations?" Louise said. "Of course, silly," mimicking the demeaning voice Louise used, and said, "So how's the inn been since I was gone?" Louise replied, "Oh it's been going well. Your room hasn't been touched since you left and that's all you could care about, right?" "Of course." I said while remembering something important. "Hey, is there a library or a wise shaman around Denpe?" I asked. "Well, I guess I'm just an information broker in your quest, but I was told to just tell you anything. I don't know what a "library" is, but there is a wise shaman. In the north side of Denpe, there's a little shack with books that can be borrowed from said shaman. You can just stay there t-" I cut off Louise just to say, "Okay that's pretty much a library. I have to go research about a certain event that happened thousands of years ago." Louise gasped and said, "You don't mean the dragon, right? It's just a fairy tale. Don't worry about it." Louise's face turned somber like she's seen death before. "I won't. Actually I was gonna s- search up some g- geography of the surr- surrounding area." I said to the sullen Louise. "Okay. Just be careful out there." Louise said in a depressed voice. I wonder what got over her, but it's best that I leave her be. I walk out the door and remember I have no idea about the compass directions of the area. I didn't want to ask Louise, so I ask a random villager where north is. Luckily, the compass is simple as the north is to the mountains and the south is to the ocean. I walk towards the mountains and find a little shack along the castle walls, and the shack had a sign on it: "Shaman's Outpost" Without thinking I walk into the shack and the doors slam shut. "Heh heh heh, what have you come here for, boy?" I hear over a cackling fire. Oh that's why my post seemed short. I forgot this part. Thanks for reading! I have a villain now, but you can still be added to the story! If you request and don't put characteristics, your personality and other things will be based on your profile pic and username. Please leave feedback and comments!
Okay, I guess it's time to continue this story! @TheBlackHamood is introduced in this chapter. Chapter 6: Foreseen"Uh, what? I'm really confused. Are you the wise shaman that rents books?" I said to the shadowy figure. "First answer the question. Why have you come?" the shaman said. "I came to read up on a certain legend that's been bothering me lately. Just thinking of it makes me cringe." I said. I've actually been getting visions lately. The inn, the walls, the central tower, all up in flames. When I was back at nala's, I dreamt an alternate version of getting out her house: 「"I'll escort you out!" nala said, "Just step through that portal to return to the surface." As soon as I got out, I saw a bright yellow and orange light among the blue sky. What alarmed me was that the fire was the same place as Denpe. How long was I in nala's cave hole this whole time?! I hear screaming coming from the town: piercing shrieks like mic feedback. Wait, what's mic feedback? Uhh, why can't I remember?! I see a family running away from the walls but the family is quickly burned by the flame that has replaced Denpe. At that moment I hear a mighty roar coming from the sky, and a huge dragon drops out of the sky. The shock wave repels me onto my back, but I couldn't do anything. I was just in awe. The dragon was much taller than the trees of the forest I just got out of, and the sun and the flames reflected off the dragon's red scales to produce a really nice color and a glare to just blind me. It breathed fire onto the forest and swung at me while I was paralyzed by its glare. I woke up as soon as I saw the dragon's claw. It made me even more disturbed in the morning than I already hate mornings.」 "Well okay," the shaman said, "you're welcome to use any of the books in this shack. If you need me, you can just call me by my name, Hamood." At that moment, the shadow morphed into a humanoid figure, but he was just human as the rest of us. He looked pretty buff and I glance at one of the shack's corners to find a sword propped up against the walls. I'm thinking that this guy can kill me in 2 seconds, but he seems pretty calm. "Wait, so you can morph into a shadow whenever you want?" I pry. "It's a simple spell that I use whenever someone walks through that door. You're the first in a while to not try open the door and run. I don't know any other magic though, well besides this crystal I own. It's supposed to tell me the future, but it doesn't work." Hamood said, "Which legend are you reading about?" "I want to read about the dragon that wreaked havoc thousands of years ago." I answered. "Boy, you best be careful with that. I'll help you out," Hamood said while taking out a heavy brown book, "but the mayor has banned anything about this legend to stimulate the growth, prosperity, and happiness of this town." With a surprised look, I realize it makes sense in order to protect the people from paranoia, but it doesn't make sense in certain ways. "Okay, I'll study this legend, and I'll be careful around the guards." I promised. "You have what it takes. I need to get rid of that book to lower my suspicion among the crowd, so keep it or burn it when you're done with it." Hamood said. "Thank you very much, Hamood. I'll make sure to repay the favor." I said. "Okay, you be best on your way. It's gonna get dark soon. Conceal the book using your jacket so guards can't catch you, and whatever you do, don't act suspicious." Hamood said. "Okay. I'm heading back to the inn now." I said. Hamood's eyes seemed to spark at that moment, but he instantly just said, "Wait, did SHE tell you about me?" Thanks for reading! I'm horrible for leaving cliffhangers aren't I? If you still want to be in this story, it isn't too late to sign up! Just leave some personality traits and your favorite color, or I'll just piece your character from your forums character. Please leave feedback and comments!
