Uhh I just thought of something that may be very important.. What if say someone had 3 active warning points and they knew they would get warned again so they just made another forums account, which had no warning points? Then they would get banned for less time?
I believe I can say no, they wouldn't. If anything, if they did that and they were caught, they would be banned longer than it was intended to in the first place.
Is everything one point? Example: I am very very very abusive to someone, would I only get 1 or depending on how abusive I was would I get more. Is hacking still an auto ban? It would help to put those down with it.
This is for the forums, not the server. If you were extremely rude towards somebody, you may receive more than one point at a time on the forums, yes.
The question is, how many for a perma ban? My guess is a lot. Anyway, thanks for the update StarlightFox, this seems like a good system!
Omg star isn't admin or higher she can't make news thread. Tho ty for the info. It'll be hard to adjust; I'm still on the 10 points = 1 week ban system
Thanks for letting us know c: also what if someone had 3 active warning points before this update? Would he get punished now?
(If I may answer xD) No, that wouldn't be fair. If someone had 5 warning points beforehand, they wouldn't receive the newly instated ban system duration, or anything really. The only way they will be banned is if they get another warning point from now on. So, if you have 2 (or more) warning points currently, be cautious with what you say; the next warning point will result in a temporary ban from the site :p
Looks like a more positive way towards things Still waiting for my warning that my friend made me get.... he posted something on a reeeeaaallllyyy old thread and I was the one who got the warning -_-
As far as I can remember isn't it 10 warning points for a flame war? And seeing that these are only temporary bans does that mean more than 8 active points equates to a permanent ban? It's a good new system, I'm just a bit confused on how it runs.
No, there is no specific amount that ends in a permanent ban. Permanent bans are something that are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and there is no automation to it.
