Stalking staff members

This isnt even stalking lol. Stalking is* looking through your window and spying on you. This? This is trolling, at a very minor form. Following you and messaging you isnt "stalking".

Just remember, I have experience of staff too. I know how stuff works.

Exactly what I was going to mention. I have not head anything about staff being "personally" stalked so far, only mentions of being followed around the server which is not stalking at all.

Stalking is not just looking through your window. Website stalking. You can be stalked on facebook, twitter, and anywhere.

Well anyway @Devin610 it seems your words are well said in my point of view at lease, other people would not think the same. You know, staff are people as well and do require some of the same things as any other person. Staff are not always right and anyone who thinks so shall be incorrect. Personal space is one thing that is important when relating to this thread because imagine if you were the staff member , would you like being spammed all the time. Honestly, I would feel annoyance. No I don't think you would want to experience that. Please I only ask this, do not harass or stalk anyone since another topic we are talking about is harassment and stalking. With staff members I see this where it is a bigger problem but it is also a problem with the players. There is my voice.

 

Social media websites contain personal information you put on it, so that is a bad comparison, the server gives away no personal information unless you say it in chat.

And if you think "well this forum has personal information on it", the forum has no relation to what you're complaining about. You're just claiming that people following you, annoying you or spamming the chat is "stalking".

 

I see the forums the same as a social media website to be completely honest. ;)

 

Same here, its not just for reporting people, there are sections in which you can post other things that don't have to do with help. Just socializing.

There is more purpose in the forums then just reports. The forums is also a social place.

 

I didn't say it was not a form of social media, I simply stated that what the staff are claiming is annoying them is happening on the server and not the forums. So comparing the server to a social media isn't very accurate while the forum is, but the forum is not where the problem lies.

 

Not to be mean or anything and also not to go too off-topic (Which btw we are) I just wanted to ask how many useless PMs do the staff get everyday? It is the same thing as you can see. ;)

I think what the staff are trying to say is.. all about the community. Like in team-speak, the forums, and yes of course, the server. Spam shouldn't be allowed everywhere, that is a rule.

 

The only whining I see on this thread is from the people who won't simply comply with a simple request, and have to make a huge deal out of it. Devin is asking people to give the staff room to work, in order for them to do their jobs more efficiently. After all, isn't that what half the people here have been complaining about since over a rear ago? For staff to do their jobs more efficiently? Yet, here they are, doing the exact opposite, and telling them to "deal with it".

Now, for those of you who are telling them to deal with it...tell me this.
Have you seen things from their point of view?
Have you thought about how they feel, getting followed just because they're staff?
Have you considered how this can drastically hamper their ability to do their job?

Have you realized that they are making a simple request, for the better of the server, and don't deserve the backlash they are getting?

 

I completely agree with you. All the staff are requesting is some space so that they can complete their jobs efficiently.

Better for the server? What the server needs (as I've said many times) is a sense of fairness to everyone.

I still stick with my point that it is at a much larger inconvenience to those getting warned contributing to temp bans, than for the staff to ignore them and get on like they normally would.

 

I have seen things from their point of view. I was staff on omega and learned a lot about a staff position from it. When someone is harassing you, spamming you, or taunting you, warn them verbally then /warn them.

Yes I have, its normal. People can be jealous, and take out their anger on those who have earned the rank. Its natural, its life to be jealous. Were all jealous at one point.

No, it shouldnt affect them. People did it to me when I was staff on omega, I didnt care.

For your original statement, I do see your reasoning, but they are whining. They cant simply use the commands they are given to stop this, instead they just come to making this thread and whining. Simple request or not, its whining.

Last I checked you signed up for a different server to be staff, and you are not/have never been a staff member on this server. The rules on your server may not apply to this one :p

 

It is generally the same though. Its not like its a foreign country or anything, its almost identical. Its moderation, handling players, and keeping the server peaceful. Same general idea.

 

I don't understand why people keep replying to statements that they agree to.. and state the same thing over and over again?
