My grandpa was in Germany in the jungle and when they threw a grenade at him, he jumped on top of it to save the others arounryd him. He landed with it on his right hip. So It twisted his spine and his right leg was gone. My dad says he never felt his dad was handicapped. (He survived) he could bowl, bike, and play with my dad with his artificial leg. Sadly, I never got to my my grandpa he died from an illness 4 years before I was born.

 

My great Grandfather (Austrian) fought for the Germans in WWI
One of my grandfathers came from Poland and fought for the Americans in the Korean War.
The other fought for the Americans in WWII

 

My Great-Grandfather was in WW2.

And my Great-Nan.

You see, in the UK once a woman was married she had to leave the Army. My Great-Nan didn't.

When the men in the barracks were talking to her, my Great-Grandfather had to remind them that she was his wife.

 

Sorry you never got to meet him:/ question, though: they have jungles in Germany?

 

My father was a Navy in the Vietnam war. He almost died.
Imagine trying to swim from Vietnam to Laos with 40 people shooting you.

 

IKR I WAS LIKE "wat." But I didn't want to interrupt my dad when he was telling me. I think he got the location wrong.
