Finally! After wasting about 6 hours of my Saturday night I pieced the puzzle and found it out. Ok, are you ready. Ok! HeroBrine story is right below!

There is a hacker who's real mine craft name remains unknown. He hacks into people games with no nametag, which the specific name of the hack he uses to do this prank is called @.png.hero.brine.atv
or herobrine for short. This hack allows the player to have no nickname. The way this mysterious player looks is all very simple. He simply took the average Steve skin, and blurred out his eyes. He secretly would mod in creepy noises into people's games.

So now you know the true story of HeroBrine!

What if the original minecraft featured two players, making it feel like there was a friend helping, yet this 2nd player gathered enough intelligence to make up his own mind, create his own name. Herobrine. And that's when he realised, Steve, his friend, was using him to gain ores and materials, so he turned evil, tried killing Steve, died somehow in an accident causing his eyes to go white, and bright. And he used magic that was put into the game as a bit of fun, against all of mojang and the players, so notch tried taking Herobrine out. He could take the magic out, but Herobrine had enough to store for a long time. Notch looked through the code, and couldn't find Herobrine's coding. Herobrine had wired his way so far into the coding, only the best of the best could find it, but not delete it. All Notch could do, was temp ban him from the game. Worse of all, Notch couldn't remove the programming to stop Herobrine going into servers...
Well, that's my theory ^^ only spent 10 mins thinking and typing it

To put it short, Herobrine is not real.

The original Herobrine hoax was an image photoshopped to have Herobrine in an inconspicuous place.

The original Herobrine hoax video used a texture pack to make a painting look like Herobrine.

Everything a computer does is dictated by code. Ghosts can't influence it, at all.

If a hacker actually entered your game, there would be an incoming connection log, which, has never happened.

Also, most home routers block all unsolicited incoming connections by default.

If a hacker was dedicated enough to break through a firewall, don't you think he'd steal sensitive data instead of adding a character to a video game?

All Herobrine sightings are either fake or mods. A client mod is not needed if the server is modded.
