Hey guys, i needed to ask this very serious question, i have had it on my mind for a while now and i really feel like i need to share it. Should i keep making Comics? You might be thinking, "Nuu johns going to stop makings comics D:" i said should i keep making them, cause to be honest, Making comics is starting to take a toll on my personal/School life, i always feel like i have to make them in a certain time frame just so a thread like Mod Mayhem doesnt become old and all i will see is "Whoaaa that was a huge bump!" Then my thread will get closed. And it feels like i have only so much time to make them and it interferes with my own life. I mean i constantly get worried about my Computer breaking from age, or Comics beginning to get Less popular on the forums. Cause my comics is what got me popular on the forums. Its extremely hard to get these comics done when their is a bunch of demand for them. I know i said before that drawing is a hobby to me, Now it feels like its becoming my Job. I mean i always have to keep you guys waiting for the next part cause my life is really busy, due to Senior year responsibilities and Getting ready for college and the Adult life. I know you guys really enjoy my comics, but i feel like im losing my mind from Drawing the comics and balancing life and school at the same time. So i would like your honest opinion, should i continue making them? Or should i pull the plug on mod mayhem or other story arc comics i had planned? Thanks for reading, -John_0696
You shouldn't be asking us this question. Trust me. If you like what you are doing, keep doing it. If you have fun writing and drawing all those stories and bring excitement to people, keep doing it. Don't let some people let you down because they don't like it or something. Do what you like, people are not obligated to read your comics. Don't let people in between you and the things you like to do. Be yourself. Be unique. Be happy doing your own things :)
I really can't answer this question fully, due to me already having a clear viewpoint on your comics and comics in general. Sure, I do want you to keep making them, but if they are becoming more of a chore rather than a hobby, or you are losing interest, either you could try to find a way to make them fun again, or you may need to take a break or stop entirely. What is really important is how you enjoy it. I really don't think popularity really comes into account here, it only matters if you are having fun doing it. And I see this also is taking a toll on personal life, and I can see why you feel rushed to make them. I don't know too much of your school life and don't think I really should know, so I'll just say this: Make sure that it doesn't get in the way, and don't feel pressured by the people you only know by words on a screen. Also, about the "woah nice bump liek if u cri every tiem and folllow me" situation, I doubt that really happens too much, and those who do it are usually aren't actual members of the community and everything. A suggestion from me is to first break and maybe find that perfect or almost perfect balance between school and comics, and then go at that pace. It really doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, as long as you are fine with this, it's all that matters. I may have gone horribly off topic or sidestepped around your entire point, which is a tendency of mine, but I hope it can help.
First, your title. "a Question." Seriously. You couldn't correct that? As I've said multiple times before, while I'm not really a fan of the comics, most other people are. I told you that you should spend more work on them instead of rushing through them. But you insisted that "Ill be Banned for Bumping you Dont Understand :(" You're too paranoid. You're not "losing all your friends." You're not "getting a computer virus on the internet." You're not "seeing Herobrine." You won't "get a warning point for all this blood." Just do something. Spend more time and then post on the thread. A freaking week bump doesn't matter when you're posting a comic thread, literally no member of staff will care at all. If you improve your comics, I would be happy to see them. But everyone else likes them as is, and I highly, HIGHLY doubt any staff member would "ban" you for bumping a comic thread after a few days. You rush your comics too much, and that's not helping their popularity. And if you have to work on college and adult life, why are you on the forums all the time? You'll eventually have to give up your "forum life" and all your "forum friends" because nobody will take you seriously when you're 37 years old and you're still trying to talk on J&H TS.
i leik ur comiks bc dey ar so amazeng. ;n; the only problem is that I've never been featured in one. ;-; *cough cough*
Remember, it's just a hobby, not a job. Go at your own pace, you have no deadline. Real life ALWAYS comes first, no matter what.
When you have to stop, you have to stop. I can respect that. It sounds like a serious issue. We won't be angry if you stop; it's interfering with your life. So PLEASE, do youself that one favor and live your life the way it is supposed to be. The comic aren;t supposed to be some pressure we hold over your head. It's something you do for fun - and when it stops being fun and starts doing this to you... you are the one who truly needs to help yourself, and stop.
Like willy said it's your choice. Also I think you should make them. I enjoy them and many others as we'll.
