I don't recommend that, because most people (99.9%) don't need that, and speed is SLOOOOW (compared to local disks).
HOWEVER, if you DO need that, I recommend you use Western Digital RED drives.
They're built for the high-temperature, confined space enclosures that are NASs and SANs.

For render shouldn't you look more into 8 core bulldozers then? :) Intel can do 2 things, gaming and have hyped advertising. Price/Performace wise Amd is better with Multicore Cpu's. No need for 22nm when you can have more threads.
