I mean it's one thing to give the typical first day of school speech, but to give homework on the first day is just... NO! I hate algebra... -.-
I also got lots of homework the first day, but I don't find it too bad, as you're getting to experience the kind of load you'll be getting a lot almost daily. So there is a good and bad side of it.
Be grateful. You may think that you hate algebra, but it is important for all of your other highschool classes in the future. Which leads to college. (If you plan on it.) Which leads to a job. So learn to love it. (I'm in 7th grade an am taking high school algebra.) Of course, homework on the first day is not the end of the world. Just work through it, and earn the days off.
@Boozington Your name looks familiar. Did I see you in "another place"... specifically in a "mini-game" in that "other place" Back on topic You guys need to chill down. I am a high school student yet I go to college. Let me say something, it is ONLY going to get worst. So, look at it in a positive way. You aren't doing essays and reading over 100 pages as well as taking notes on it. Algebra isn't even hard at all. You just find what "x" is and that is simple. xD
Just to clarify, when I say "another place" I really mean another server. I didn't flagged for you know xD
I never get homework on the first day, but as @Spykethevictini said, you have to do it or else you won't get a good education and you'll drop out of school before you even finish.
I started on tuesday. So far I've had homework, but it really isn't all that hard. Like, for my AV class, all we've had to do is make a guild that describes us in pictures, basically. Once you start doing your homework, you realize, if you pay attention in class, it really isn't all that hard.
It's not that bad, you'll get used to it and later in your school carreer, you'll have to study more and more
