So if you play OITC on a regular basis, you know that a lotta ppl have been hacking lately. If you dont believe me, take a look for yourself. Most people don't even bother to report because they simply don't want to. There has to be a way to stop this. Any1 got any bright ideas?
I know this is a pretty new plugin, and has a few bugs, but do you guys think this could be of any use? http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/anti-forcefield/
The only way right now to stop hackers is to report them. The more hackers reported, it means there is one less to worry about. I'm not sure they need a new plugin right now either (my opinion). Anyways, if you see a hacker, report him/her and make sure you get evidence which includes evidence of it. Otherwise nothing can be done. Thanks for your concern, but the best way to take action is to report them, and if no one is willing to report them, then the people who will report them must do their best. I actually went on today to see if I could report anyone, and I didn't see any hackers.
The 2 new helpers that were promoted are very active and can help to sort out most of the unsorted hacking reports as you may have seen already.
I wonder what that new plugin works like anyways? Tbh I am really sick of all the hackers since they make it hard to improve my own statistics. BUT I am also sick of making all the hacker reports because it's just such a dull activity. Dragging the recording into Premiere Pro, finding the evidence, slow mo it, upload it, create thread, that's time I would rather spend playing the game - w/o hackers! Maybe there are people who have experience with that plugin? It would be really neat and if it actually works, it would finally stop the hackers BEFORE they even get started! It shouldn't be "I caught you, punishment", it should be "Hacked Client detected - punishment"
I think there should be a helper in the server at all times so instead of posting it on the forums and waiting a couple days for a reply, you get a instent reply and the hacker can get banned a lot quicker
Well there is also this plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/forcecheck/ tho it appears as if it is no longer being worked on. Here is a vid on how it works even!
