A bump is when you post on an old thread, bringing it back to the top of the forum list. You can say things, just don't bump threads.

 

Bumping is replying on an old thread for example:
Lets say the last reply was 4 weeks ago.
You reply it today. That is bumping aka putting a thread back on to the top of the page
