The Tornado (A true story about me :D)

So on Monday, terrible storms hit the area where I live, and there were over 5 tornadoes reported in within 10 miles of me alone, and I decided to share the story with you guys (this is a true story, no lies were added)

The sun was beginning to go down, but it was very cloudy out, very gray. I went in the basement and then I heard my family upstairs, talking in a shocked voice. I went upstairs and the sky was a light shade of green, the wind was at a whopping 75 mph, and the rain was going berserk. It didn't last long, the rain passed not even 5 minutes later.

I was in the basement when I looked out the window and I saw that the glass was shaking. Then the house began to shake. The wind was whipping and lightning was visible even from the basement. The power went out for a brief second, then everything was quiet. I turned the TV back on, to see a tornado warning in my area.

Then I heard a loud bang, I ran upstairs and looked out the window, and I saw atleast 3 trees down on my street.

Then there was a high pitched eerie noise, and I noticed cars beginning to move outside from the wind. I looked down the street, and what did I see, a big, black tornado.

I ran downstairs for my life. The roofs of houses were being ripped up, trees were being uprooted, fences were taken down, and it looked like noon out there (from the lightning), the high pitched sound I heard were sirens...tornado sirens...they were so loud. The house was rumbling, the windows were shaking, and the rain was so heavy that you couldn't see out.

Finally, 20 minutes later the storm passed, I went outside. We couldn't leave the neighborhood, every road was blocked by trees, tiles on our roof were ripped up, it was terrible.

The tornado warning expired, the sirens stopped blaring, and everything was quiet.

We got lucky, our power was fine
Today, when I am writing this, people still don't have their power back.

I'm glad nothing bad happened to me or my family.

I've been living in virginia for 12 years, and I never EVER got a tornado or any other bad storms. Except a hurricane. But it wasn't near my house. Wow, Im so lucky.

I would have been crying on the ground in a tornado o-o, i wouldn't even be able to walk because my legs would be shaking xD

 

that must have been so scary. ive never experienced something so terrifieing.

 

That must have been really scary. Thankfully, Long Island doesn't get tornadoes. Only hurricanes. Glad you were safe, honestly, I'd be crying if something like that happened. I tend to get really scared when I see fires, tornadoes, etc.

I got so scared at first but I kept saying to myself "DON'T WORRY WE HAVE MOUNTAINS TORNADOS CAN'T COME HERE BECAUSE WE'RE INA SAFE STATE WE HAVE MOUNTAINS AHAHAHAHAHHAHAAH"

thankfully there was no tornado ;-;

 

I'm guessing you live around Illinois cause that's where I was hit by the tornado.

Nothin really bad happened to our house, some glass and roof was ripped and some things were out of shape but the walls and everything is fine.

But holy nachos... At least you are safe! There was 3 tornados around 20 miles of me so... Not as bad as what happened to you, geezus.

 

Tornadoes hit 1 block away from my aunt and blew her roof off.
Anyway, thank goodness you and you're family are safe

Just goes to show that Nature can whoop humanitys ass at any given time. but glad you and your family is ok :)

I live in Russia. I have never exprienced those things, but I feel sorry for you. :(
