Can someone explain this?

Invisible spider, spider jockey.

Like wut..
Spiders apparently have potion effects with no witch around.
Do they just spawn with them or what?

Maybe its your resorce pack, just for spider jockeys

 

I believe it's the resource pack idk

 

Maybe someone was using an invisibility potion right next to the spider and then it ran towards you with its effects still going.

 

It's either your minecraft glitching, or the new effect that mojang added.

Now, if you stay in an area long enough, mobs will get stronger, as well as spawn with potion effects :p

 

I think I have seen that before.. weird invisible spiders lel

 

My resource pack is perfectly fine. I've been using this for months and this never happened before.

 

Yeah, if you stayed in this area long enough they'll get potion effects spawned with them naturally :p

Then it's probaly a bug/glich :P
Try swap back and forth in some of your resource packs.

 

I agree with AACM and rockor.
Maybe it spawned with an invisibility potion, it's head is probably visible because of the skeleton's legs surrounding it.
If not, try changing your resource pack to see if anything changes.

Thing is, another spider also spawned nearby with speed effects.
There was no witch around.
It's not my resource pack.

lol it's not very new, but it was a new feature back in, uh, forgot what update. But yeah, spiders can spawn with effects, like speed, or in this case, invisibility. Not a glitch, it's a feature of minecraft :p

The effects they can spawn with are:

Swiftness, Strength, Regeneration, or Invisibility

(You have to be playing on hard mode for them to spawn with these effects)

Ehh, I didn't really elaborate on my saying of "hard mode". What I meant is hard difficulty; sorry for the confusion :P

 

Yes. It's a server I'm playing on but it is on hard diffculty. :p
