NO. (sorry for the immature title, I didn't know what else to call it...)

Okay, time for another persons opinion about shipping threads because I like to put my opinions out there, yey. A few of these have been popping up lately, am I right? Yeah. Maybe its a sign that people do not like them anymore... Yet some people still post them. Yeah, maybe they used to be a little fun, but that is not so anymore, they're annoying now. But thats everyones opinion on them, now for my opinion.

They're just utterly pointless. What do you get out of them? I'll tell you, nothing. You don't get anything other than maybe a few people complaining about them. Fun right? Wrong. Some people like me can see the effect you're having on certain people by making these threads. As many of you know, there are a lot of people who love others within the server. What you're doing through making these threads is hurting them and possibly their relationships. Some people, like myself, can take many things quite seriously and you are hurting them through these shipping threads. People can doubt themselves over such a small thing. Some of you may be thinking that its their fault for taking a joke to seriously, well this isnt a joke anymore is it. And no, its not their fault when what you're doing is pointless. Some people think its all fun and games. Granted that not everyone can see the effects they cause, but its not a game. Love is never a game, you simply do not play around with peoples feelings.

It has got out of hand now, it's not a game anymore. In my opinion this has to stop.
My question to you, is your fun worth anothers pain?

I'm just going to tag @RobyNub1337, because I wish to see his opinion on this issue, as I feel this has become an issue now. If drama threads are stopped immediately and deserve such a harsh punishment, something like these which are causing issues to people in such ways should be stopped also.

Also, if you wonder why I made another thread about this when there are already existing ones, I have no idea, because I can I guess...? :P

 

These aren't technically drama threads but for the point of where they bring up a lot of attention, especially when some random person is paired with someone who is already taken *COUGH COUGH*
I agree with them being god damn annoying, love doesn't work where you just put 2 random people together when they stand next to each other on a god damn video game.. if you think that works... then dafok..
If I see another thread about ANYONE being shipped, they will be closed because it's not even funny anymore, tbh never was in the first place.

Why I hate ships? They hurt feelings. Sometimes we just skip the thought of how the inflicted people would feel since the most who ship have never been shipped. I've been shipped before, and it was funny at first, but then it started to get annoying on how they were talking about it all over the chat for like 10 minutes. I hated it. Sure, it was just a fun little joke at first, but then lots of people started doing it to friends, best friends, crushes, etc. etc.

I've said this plenty of times, treat others the way you want to be treated. It helps in life so much, since when you respect, you get respect. You want a new game? Give others games you don't play anymore, they'll surely cherish it.

Don't want to get shipped? Don't ship anyone. Sure, I've shipped people, and I've learned my lesson. Now I feel really guilty, and those who shipped probably do too. It's all just a mistake we living, breathing creatures have made. That's why we're imperfect; So we can learn from our mistakes. After all, life's going to be more tragic down the road, but with happy-themed streets and less bumps along the way too.

So please, just be more mature for your age. It's going to help your reputation and your applications for jobs and stuff in the future. Start now before it turns into a bad habit, or you'll regret it. Getting rid of a bad habit is tough, so don't think it'll be a cakewalk if you don't stop. Plus, the threads get deleted anyway and you'll probably get a warning point too, so what do you earn? Nothing. So no more ship threads pls.

They are causing personal problems with people that they do not wish to post on the forums, so I don't think there are many posts of people revealing how its making them feel.

Look at the screenshot that Kate posted to this thread and see how its making her feel. Contact her too about it since she's one of the people I know who have been affected most but not revealed how she feels on the forums.

No, seriously, this thread puts what I meant by one meme into a detailed description. I agree completely.
They can be harmful. Sure, it may seem like "what's the harm in a random ship," but it can hurt the person involved. The concept of "love" as we know it can be painful to throw around like how it is in some threads.
Seriously, people need to stop making them.
(Aside from being hurtful, there are also way to many of these threads out there. Stop making ship threads and find something worthwhile to make a thread on)

It seems like these threads are generally a form of harassment/trolling.

Additionally, its intentionally poking at something rather controversial.

 

People made them for fun.My reply explains that those threads can cause problems or end a relationship.It's hurtful,at least for me.

 

I agree on the harassment end of your thoughts...but not the trolling part.
These threads are, by all means, not meant to hurt anyone at all, but they do.
Not only that, some of the people (Kate, for example), has asked them to stop, yet they keep on doing it...
So yes, it's harassment.

EDIT: I personally think that it's spam too, because there's no point in the thread whatsoever, so I think that they should receive warning points for it as well.

 

Okay, I'll make a post later today or tomorrow to correct this issue.

Understand that when speaking in such an official capacity I have to be careful how I say stuff, thus the reason for the delay. For now, feel free to quote this post in order to make the point clear:

Staff: While it may not be intended to harm, its still harassment. Especially if you keep doing it after the effected person asked you to stop.

I don't mind if shipping is used every once in a while. However, I don't like shipping when it is used so excessively that people are literally shipping others every 5 minutes. Sometimes, there are threads literally made every hour about a ship that is new or a ship that is used (ex. Xenon x whatever)

I mean some people have different opinions on love, so it can be conflicting when you are randomly shipped, including me in a way, since I don't want to date on Minecraft and rather stick the dating stuff to in real life. I'm ok if you are just joking around like the first time, but if it carries on for like a few weeks then it is just annoying and it can possibly harass someone.

 

Shipping can be cute but annoying.

People normally do it for:

The lolz (tbh I do this mostly)
The likes
To make the loved ones annoyed.

But to the ones who did harass them:
How would you like it to yourself?
