History of the forums - astronomy style

Early Era (Dec 2012 – Apr 2013)

Dec 24, 2012: The planet of ItsJerryAndHarry's forums is created in the galaxy of Minecraft server forums, for Jerry and Harry's fairly young server. Harry is the first man to arrive on the planet, followed by Hai, Jerry, the member Ncecal (later promoted to moderator), Saul, and others. Harry makes the planet's first ever billboard, introducing the new planet. Many members arrive, writing messages on the billboard.

Jan 2013: The building where members could post applications for staff on the planet and parallel planet in the Galaxy of Minecraft Servers was closed down due to there being enough staff. This was the time the second generation of staff was promoted.

Feb 2013: Moderator @Arcoz made a billboard in the Off-Topic building, a forum game titled "Let's make a story! =D", where people posted words to make a ridiculous story. The billboard quickly became a huge hit. Also, the dreaded Feaxh reformed himself under a new and much better identity, LeFinn.

Mar 2013: Arcoz closed “Let’s make a story” after hitting 25 pages. The billboard ended up quite modest compared to bigger ones from later days.

Apr 2013: A “Random Spam” building where people’s post count didn’t increase was added to the planet, for everyone’s random threads. Also, the parallel server underwent a massive revamp, noted on the forums. Some members didn’t like this and left, but most were excited for it.

First Expansion Era (May – July 2013)

May 2013: People began reconstructing the survival world in the parallel planet, bringing it up again and again on this planet.

June 2013: The owners of the forums decided to start promoting new staff members out of their own personal choice. Meanwhile, the planet’s population began a major expansion – many old members rejoined, and many new members joined. The planet was becoming more active by the minute.

July 2013: The planet’s expansion reached its height – many new members soon to become veterans joined. But then, the server survival went down, causing the forums and server to gradually become disconnected. Also, @HiMyNameIsAJ joined and was promoted to admin, confusing many. He was promoted so that improvements could be made to the planet. AJ was lucky and ended up on the 1337th page of the ever-growing book of users registered on the planet.

First Contraction Era (Aug – Oct 2013)

Aug 2013: After the expansion, many older members chose to depart from the forums. LeFinn and @Yomc were two of them, along with countless others. LeFinn left because he got more interested in real life, and Yomc left because he felt bad for a mistake he made when a group of people who own very popular planets in the Minecraft area in the Galaxy of YouTube went to the server.

Sep 2013: More people continued to leave, and it seemed as if the forums and server were beginning to fall apart. Meanwhile, @WikiRigbyDude posted a thread about a weird urge to watch the TV show extremely popular all around the Internet universe, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. @Spicy successfully got him, and @PyromancerMagic as well, to watch the show and become bronies. Also, a building for Registered+ members only was created as an experiment. @Yomc returned as well.

Oct 2013: Flame wars and spam spread further and further, beginning to damage buildings, and the staff of the planet were well aware of this. They told of a new surprise coming to the planet, and the Registered+ building was closed and about to be demolished.

Late Oct 2013: The planet was closed down, with all members evacuated. Everything on the planet was destroyed, and later whole new buildings were built with a new inner framework known as Xenforo, replacing MyBB.

Fresh Start Era (Nov 2013 – Jan 2014)

Nov 3, 2013: The planet was reopened to users. Harry, first to register himself, made a billboard in the News building introducing the new planet. The next people to join were Hai, Jerry, AJ, an experiment identity by staff (@ItsJerryAndHarry), Saul, and Potato. After that, members started joining. The first such member was the lucky @WikiRigbyDude, followed by @~PandaCaity, @athenswill, @John_0696, @XenonHD, and @Animoes. More members soon followed.

Nov 2013: Members started posting billboards in the staff applications building, and many threads were created. Flame wars came to a halt, and @Teddie became the highest poster. @Yomc left again.

Dec 2013: Members began to worry about nobody doing anything about their applications. @Yomc created an alternate identity to use on the planet, @Cannoli. Nobody thought it was Yomc. Later, @Yomc made a grand return, abandoning Cannoli. Also, Finn rejoins as @totallynotlefinn.

Jan 2014: Flame wars and spam continued again, many were worried. @Yomc created a billboard in the Suggestions building to raise awareness of this, where he also revealed he was Cannoli. Yomc also changed his avatar to a character in the anime Sword Art Online, beginning a huge anime craze that continues today.

Second Expansion Era (Feb 2014 – present)

Feb 2014: Jerry and Harry responded to Yomc’s billboard, giving responses such as saying they will have more staff, that the community is growing too quickly for them to do a lot about it, and removal of post count from the planet except for users viewing their own. They also expelled @PyromancerMagic and @Flare Pikachu from the planet for being offensive in the thread. Pyro still regularly visits the parallel planets in the Minecraft Server galaxy and the TeamSpeak Galaxy, but Flare later got expelled from those too. Both continued to watch the planet from above, and talked to some members using the larger Hypixel planet. Also, the owners finally decided to promote helpers, such as @~PandaCaity, @LilaRok, @BlueJeansToGo, @05ocram05, and @Devin610 - they continue as of this writing.

Mar 2014: The forums begin to expand and expand, with more and more members becoming active. At this point, the group of active members is largely divided into groups, as often one active poster doesn’t really know another well. Also, survival had its long-awaited return to the parallel planet in the Galaxy of Minecraft Servers. However, since it was divided in two worlds, the forums and server remained largely disconnected, with some mostly in Peaceful, some in Factions, some in both, some staying in other parts of the server, some inactive on the server in its entirety.

Apr 2014: The expansion kept continuing. Post count was brought back to the planet, and the anime surge continued to grow. Also, @totallynotlefinn left again.

May 2014: MLP had a huge popularity surge on the planet that, unlike the anime surge, was short-lived. However, it still continues to be more popular than it was before the surge. Also, @MappyTurtle dethroned the inactive @Teddie as top poster.

June 2014: @RobyNub1337, also known as Daorack, announces changes planned for all the planets, like a planned fifth wave of staff (first was in fall 2012, second in winter 2012-13, third in summer 2013, fourth in winter 2013-14), and a clearer rule set. This excited many users, as this is a planned fix for many problems members, particularly veterans, didn’t like. Also, @PyromancerMagic was allowed back on the planet after his lengthy ban (probably the longest non-permanent in forum history).

Stability Era (Jul 2014 - ???)

July 2014: The furry fandom invades many minds of the planet, though anime is still very prevalent. Also, someone makes an account callled @MoppyTurtle to clone @MappyTurtle. The current purpose, or who it is, is unknown. @MuppyTurtle soon follows, along with @MeppyTurtle, @MippyTurtle, @M4ppyTurtle, and @M3ppyTurtle.

I started around in the First Contraction Era (not active), but became very active in the Fresh Start Era.

I was an anonymous at first, until I became an actual member half a year after that. (Ish.)

 

Actually, new staff was promoted in June of 2013. Not May.
I was the first one promoted and that was in June :P
