I did...not knowing the true nature.
I've followed a guide to change my IP, and tomorrow I'm going to be changing my passwords too.
One thing that isn't quite right: If it was a phishing site, wouldn't it be detected by Google Chrome/AVG?

I'm truly sorry about that. :c
Anyways, I've heard that Chrome has bad security but I mean it wouldn't be
that bad that it couldn't be detected?

Sorry for double posting, but I felt like I should get @~Wolf in on this...
(If I edited my last post to tag him, it wouldn't show up on his alerts).
Edit: ...Didn't actually double post... lol.

Many site gather your IP, just like XenForo, it just depends on what they do with it. You can change your IP by contacting your ISP if you feel the need to. Depending on if you have a static or dynamic IP, you may even be able to change it yourself.

Just make sure you have your firewall on to prevent incoming attacks, as sites like these are more about trying to hack into your computer rather than finding where you live.

Let me correct you on everything, Misfit.

They most likely can't get your personal information.
They'll get what service provider you use.
And therefore what country, maybe city you live in.
    That's it.

    No name, no address, nothing.

    Sure, they can DDoS you.
    But that's too much work.

I could DDoS all of you, if I wanted to.
    But I won't :P

Also, you can't just GET a new IP.
If only it was that easy.

And make sure you have a firewall and anti-virus.
I visited the website using Ubuntu, so I'm relatively safe.
    But not so with Windows.

Just always be careful, and do your research.

Pretty much but I'm still trying to warn people not to click links from people or websites they don't know.
Hacking can also be an issue.

EDIT: And I know you can't just get a new IP and a proxy is only temporary I think?
Like I said. Not sure what to do much about that if it happens >_<
But some say about how chrome warns against phishing sites.
I've used chrome for the past few years and noticed it doesn't ALWAYS warn you.
And though I tried to research what I could, I can't always get info right.
Better to be scared and learn a lesson by false info than to learn nothing at all.

Anymore? It's not like security holes exists since 20 years x.x

If you fall for that you guys seriously need to start reading some security blogs like http://blog.malwarebytes.org/ or others. One little Addon called NoScript saves you from most of the attacks. It's only a bit difficult to get into.

For example how to be safe on the internet this is a small paint from my actual system. Ask your technican how to set this is up. That's an proper way how not to screw things up when surfing the web.
