I am a Moderator on a Garry's Mod server. Don't get mad at the Mods for not doing stuff. They have to do A LOT to keep the server clear of rule breakers. I have to deal with players breaking rules every single minute. Someone says AMDIN HE RDM or something like that. But the thing is, this server has 2000 people while the server I moderate has 12 people on average (decent amount for a GMod server. Ik it seems like it's a little amount). Even though it's 12, it's still REALLY HARD to deal with all these players. Luckily, GMod have mic support so we can handle the situation easily. Just saying, don't get mad at the Moderators to not responding to stuff. I'm annoyed as hell too just dealing with all these players.
If people could understand how difficult being an admin/mod/helper/owner/co-owner is, there would be better places.
Yes! As someone who moderates a (small) server and administrates on another i can say that it is VERY annoying when people tell me to do there job. Also I think on this server the staff (more specifically @LilaRok ) respond ASAP to threads! This is far better then some other (cough cough playmindcrack) servers which take a long time and have some staff that are hands off. (meaning that that they distance them selves form the community) So thx mods you rock!
I agree with this fully. Some people need to just grow up and learn that the whole world (a square) doesn't revolve around them.
Like what @DurpehDuckiee said, If people could understand what being staff is like, there would be better places but some people don't and this is hard because people think that staff are machines and that they are on 24 hours a day 7 days a week, when they are actually normal people with a life, family and friends.
I agree with this. I'm an admin of a The Blockheads server and I'm getting asked things every minute. Plus, I have to deal with rule-breakers (like Potato®) and fixed everything that people grief. Banning, killing, checking profiles for duplicators, etc. I'd take Potato®'s advice.
Yes, there are 2000 players online, but I don't see a problem with it. Those who became staff did it either because they want attention, or because they actually wanted to help. Those who did it for the attention don't last long. I know I speak for other mods as well when I say that we all knew what it's going to be like when we got accepted. Personally, I don't mind any raging flaming or hating because I'm used to it. People will always be that way because of many reasons. By becoming moderators we accepted to devote our time to the server and not personal progress on the server.
Mainly, in flame threads, the forum members strongly disagree with the original poster In this thread, everyone is agreeing, as he is right, not to lash out at staff - To add to the topic, it's not that they are ignoring you, but they may be AFK. When staff is on and a player sees they're on, they are less likely to spam/break rules as they don't want to be caught so easily. Also, they may be multitasking, but for the most part, they are quite responsive to a player's needs or taking action when it comes to criminals
