I was wandering what you guys think about the newest minecraft update/snapshot (1.8). Personally I think it is awesome mainly because of all the red stone/map making commands. So I'm pretty pumped I just wanted to know your guys opinions.
1.8 is going to be a huge update, leading to many important features to Minecraft such as the slime blocks, that will totally change parkour as we know it. The skins too, they are very cool and will lead to more character customization, which is awesome :D
1.8.2 Huge deal for me :) Namechanges Yes finally this is confirmed. From what I get about it still there will be a 16 chars limit and we have to migrate our accounts. But can't wait for it to change my old alpha minecraft username to something more modern :D https://twitter.com/KrisJelbring/status/441213253927337984 New skins More ways to be creative can't see something bad about it. Maps, Redstone, Commandblocks like @p @e @a Well I'm not much into that topic but I quess ppl who need this will be very happy. I'm playing this little blocksgame since pre-infdev/alpha and still new updates are awesome. When they reverted the mapgenerator in beta I was a bit sad, loved the old "knifecoast" maps more. Let's say mojang never really disappointed me in updates. Just the horses, that was not really needed. ..But.. a few ideas they can have too. Alright this game is now a few years old, but we never got that mod api what was a granted update by notch. Still we useing forge or other loaders to have fuzzing code. Still it's written in java. Why? Someone could do us a favour and rewrite it in C+ because I see lots of ppl haveing bigger performance troubles after every update. If they release 1.8, slightly you can quess that more users with older pc's will fall back. ERR Twitch Streaming? Really why? Every 12 years old can handle a desktop recorder, no point in it.
@ClemensMine I agree with you. Also with the slime blocks parkour will be forever changed. I'm NEVER changing my username, well just take out the underscore I don't know why I used that. XD
I honestly don't like the updates. That's why I'm staying 1.7.2 until very necessary. But if I could choose a update to revert back to, I would go 1.6.4 downwards. They were the good versions. :P
I like the updates, it opens up new possibilities, and gives us newer things to try out every time ;) Can't wait for the name change :p
I don't like this upcoming update.It should name like Command Block update lol a lot of new command and new enchanting is OP
Name changes would be very useful, for users won't have to purchase new accounts to get new names. A common thing most players get is that they get tired of their old name, which is a case of growing up. Some people liked to be named "WaffleKING," but a year later they want to be named "XxDARKRAGEKNIGHTxX" or whatever. Then, maybe another year later, even months, "EliteDarkWarrior" Or whatever. Basically some people like me don't like to stick with the same username for too long, and that's pretty easily understandable. :)
Well I think there Direction towards new items, name changing, etc is amazing. I think they're trying to please the (10,000,000?) fans of Minecraft. Name Changing is something I think A lot of people are looking forward too. Everyone at one point has thought in their head "I wish I could change my name". The new items in Minecraft seem a little too much. For instance, New Stone doesn't make sense to me but ehh. The slime jumps seem fun :P Whenever it does come out there will be mixed negative and positive reviews, as not everyone has played the snapshots. Sorry didn't mean to turn this into an Essay ;u;
Yeah @jarroyonaples I don't think the new stone is all that we'll of an idea, but it should make maps and builds have more variety and colors.
I think that name changes and new skins will be cool, but Minecraft is changing wayyy too much for my liking.
@Creamcol77 yeah that's true it's changed a lot the best change was horses because that was just exciting for me!
