hey guys. title says it all. I might have made this kind of thread already but whatever, I'm going in depth a bit I will be separating this into a couple parts. here is a list of maps if you are not familiar with them Spoiler: Maps Tiny: Shipment Docks King Block fort Scrapyard Intersection Small: Nuketown 2025 Hijacked Rust Bowhouse Spire Warzone Airfield Medium: Meltdown Grind Drone Slums Uplink WMD Yemen Nacht der Untoten Valhalla Freightyard Standoff Medium Large: Terminal Havana Highrise Bayview Large: Underground Vertigo Cargo Raid Plaza Carrier sweet! now that we have that out of the way, lets gets on with the rankings! wait. this is just my opinion, so please try to see where I'm getting at for these. I also want to hear your opinion, oitc no-life or casual. you don't need to go in depth as much as I did, but lets talk! 1v1s duels are one of the two main gamemodes in OITC, and a great measure of skill. usually for 1v1 maps, you want to have a clear middle of the map so you have a direction to go each time you respawn. you also would probably prefer these to be smaller. I will only be doing a top 10 for this, as it would be way too much to rank all of the maps. I will choose 2 from each size. Spoiler: 1v1s! Shipment, Scrapyard, Hijacked, Nuketown, Nacht, Standoff, Terminal, Havana, Undergound, Cargo for me, shipment and scrapyard make it out of the tiny section. shipment mainly because of there being a center, but you're also able to play in each of the corners of the map. scrapyard only because of the clear avoidance of the center, making you go to any other part of the map. scrapyard is very close quarters. from small, hijacked and nuketown take it for me. both for the same reason: a clear middle of the map. the other ones just kind of suck. medium is 100% the toughest, as this is where the best maps are. I have to choose Nacht though. the two stories, close on the inside and open on the outside give this the edge for me. the other one is standoff. this is home to the greatest tournament 1v1 ever, between me and @zoom. it's just so dynamic, you can literally fight anywhere you want. medium large is easy as fuck, terminal and havana take it. large is also pretty easy, I'll be choosing underground and cargo. I can see the argument for carrier and raid, but those just *feel* too big for me. underground and cargo just feel more well rounded. ranked ranked is my favorite gamemode, and what was the only thing played really the first 5/6 years of OITCs existence. in ranked, you need to be able to focus on multiple things(players) at a time plus having great bow skills. if you can't shoot a bow, you can't play ranked. I will choose 7 maps in order, from any size. Spoiler: ranked! Yemen, Shipment, Nuketown 2025, Terminal, Nacht, Standoff, Slums yemen is the best overall map in my opinion. although it didn't win either spot for 1v1s, it's super fucking close. it's literally so versatile, and anybody can dominate. there's isn't a big middle that everybody just runs to, similar to what docks has. shipment and nuketown are very similar, both chaotic and lots of spots to fight. games on these maps can easily end in less than 70 seconds. terminal, although a larger map, plays too well to not be here(plus it's OG). sure you can spawn a mile away, but once you make it to the middle you keep shooting everybody coming out of the plane and are back in it. last 3 are just great maps and enjoyable to play. gunfight although a new gamemode, there are certain maps that play very well for it. if unfamiliar, it's a 2v2 where if you die, you cannot respawn until the next round. a round ends when both players on a team are dead. the first to 3 round wins, wins the whole match. I will chose 4 maps for this, no order Spoiler: gunfight! Shipment, Hijacked, Uplink, Yemen shipment is so good for literally anything. it's the most popular map for gunfight, for a good reason. hijacked has 2 clear sides, and its a very long map. it's like a stretched shipment. uplink is a hot take from me. I think it's the most underrated map in the game. the middle part is so cool to fight in, and you can also go to the side with the crane thingy and try to hit them at a different angle. yemen is a really good gunfight map. with the pit in the middle, you're forced to go around it to other parts of the map. so what have we learned? yemen and shipment are really good maps. please let me know if you'd like to see my opinion on other OITC things, please tell me!
