do you guys watch movies with captions on that are already in a language you're fluent in? I do not turn them on, but also am not mad when my friend turns them on or something
i kinda have to because i have hearing loss, and it also keeps me interested like t3 said above since i also have adhd
I personally dislike them quite a bit, as I tend to end up not being able to ignore them and just read them instead, which if you're watching comedy and stuff often ruins punchlines a bit. However I tolerate them as I often watch things with people for whom English is not their first language so if it helps them understand what's going on better then that's a good outcome
Yes I do and I think it helps me understand things better, especially in times where a scene is quiet or they talk fast. But I don’t rely on them heavily/read it instead of watching the movie.
Dutch movies yeah sometimes, depends on the actors. English movies, no never. Al though I do find it frustrating when for example in Breaking bad they would speak Spanish and the series itself wouldn't have captions so I had to rewind and turn captions on to see what they were saying. I'm too curious to let that pass.
