Hm, gonna check this site again periodically for at least a little longer before dipping again, so how did the blur that was 2020-2022 treat you?

personally my school career went through a lot of changes, and I actually ended up getting Covid twice, both times courtesy of mom and dad. Not fun.
I’m double vaxxed and it still kicked my ass, so I’d hate to imagine what would have happened if I wasn’t.

I was 19 when it started and 22 now. I took it seriously for about 3 weeks during the initial hype and quickly realized it was basically a spicy flu for 90% of the population.

I lived in 2 places at that time. Everyone masked in one place and nobody in the other. It's crazy how "present" the virus was in the masking community (full of mandates) versus the other one continuing business as usual. Can you guess which community was happier during this time and which one felt like everyone constantly had a stick up their ass?

Summer 2020 did bad things to my mental health due to social isolation I hadn't quite experienced before. Returning to college that year was meh, probably should've taken gap year. They tested us for covid twice a week and I tested positive once. Zero symptoms but got kicked for 2 weeks. Fucking bullshit, filed a (fraudulent) exemption and never got tested again. Amazing how healthy I was for the rest of the year when they weren't constantly looking for sickness. I also went out and did the "normal" things college kids do that everyone conscious about the virus screamed about. Was branded as a grandma killer and all that fun stuff (both my grandma's survived).

I was actually extremely open to concept of getting vaccinated because they almost held normalcy as hostage in order for people to get it. Without getting into the reasons, most of my friends and family including myself didn't get the vax and some even escalated their defiance by manufacturing fake vax cards for college, work, and such. I personally know more people with a adverse reaction to the vax than any sort of covid illness worse than a cold. In fact, the people I know that got covid the worst were all obese (300+ lbs) with several additional health considerations. I know my sample size is different from the rest of the world, but nothing I experienced IRL demonstrated a need for me to get vaccinated.

Some positives, I released 2 movies in this time period, got a lot done because I basically said fuck the mandates that limited gatherings. We didn't mask on set or any stupid shit like that and guess what, nobody got sick. I also grew as a person who was more or less forced to spend a lot of time with myself. Learned a lot. Strengthened my faith in some things and tanked my trust in others.

Not a lot of people are ready to seriously consider a possibility that covid was a manufactured crisis. I completely believe it was. The virus itself did not touch my inner circles in two different communities I lived in. They were most effected by mandates, etc. If not for the internet, I'm not sure I would've known anything was happening aside from the unhinged reactions from others. I'm not saying it's fake, but grave inconsistencies across governments, health orgs, and even the news lead me to suspect it could've been. Between that, and a significant disconnect from the media hype and my IRL experiences in media work and in general.

Jury is out on if those years are a net positive or negative for me. My career took leaps but I'm partly self aware that I flew way to what others consider "alt right" simply because I don't trust the bullshit we are fed from supposedly trustworthy institutions. That wasn't the case in 2019. As someone that worked in media during this time, on a variety of projects, I was able to observe first hsnd how people were manipulated. It disgusted me and it happens to every single one of you whether you know it or not. I wasn't redpilled by propaganda. The process of producing propaganda redpilled me. This alone probably deserves a thread someday.

You can think whatever you want about that, but a true global pandemic with a dangerous virus wouldn't have half the population not giving a shit

Extreme introvert... I was built for this. Only issue I had was Ezz working from home and being in "my space" but we moved to a bigger house that gave him his own space and it's been amazing since.

I’m an introvert as well. Staying at home really didn’t bother me at all. Had school online for 2 years, everyone was trying to hang on in the fam, friends and all. ‘Twas quite the experience going through it, but nevertheless: just going with the flow.

Very well, with the copious amounts of alcohol consumed on a nightly basis by me and @sool helped speed things along. If it wasn't for covid I would not have met my girlfriend (she met my friend in online class, but they would have never bet as they went to different colleges, we introduced and still together 2+ years later)

I missed my friends at times, but being an introvert who plays games, staying at home playing games and eating junk food was no issue at all! I had covid at least twice. Was a strange time, but seem to be mostly through it. :D

But yeah, covid was definitely a manufactured crisis.

2020-2022 did things to my mental health that I will probably never fully recover from. Trying to balance my own struggles and become a young adult in the midst of a deadly pandemic was very difficult and I honestly don't know how I got through it.

Being told to go home from school for two months, which then led to not going back was wild af. The quarantine was way too much time to myself and not being able to exist in society was such a weird feeling. I don't think it's the same now.

Trying to make the transition from high school to a university despite not being able to leave your dorm (no college events, basically no in person classes where I was attending period) was very challenging and depressing. I ended up dropping out a month in and now I'm attending a community college hopefully will graduate this Fall.

I learned a lot about myself and the world during these times, crazy as fuck and these days I just try to be chill and look forward to what I want to accomplish in life. Peace has become my biggest priority and I hope I can find it.

Covid for me was absolute Hell on my mental and physical health back in 2020-2021. 2020 was what I consider the worst year of my life as not only was I in the hospital twice with Acute Appedicitis, but then having to stay home from school and drop out of several classes I enrolled in due to my abysmal health at the time. During the lockdowns I also dealt with a lot of emotional problems like deep sadness and depression, fits of rage and other emotions as I saw the world events unfold around me. The Protests, The California Wildfires, the Damned Elections, 2020 almost felt Apocalyptic to me at times, especially around the beginning of the pandemic, I remember going to a grocery store to stock up on supplies early in the morning and seeing how empty the streets were on our way there. It was like the pits of hell split open on earth that day, and we were all going to die.

Then there was the challenge of taking classes from home, some weren't bad, but one that I had in the fall which was studio painting I had to do entirely from my bedroom and it was borderline impossible, especially with a Teacher who was a Snobbish overly critical person. However, Despite the difficulty of the class, I actually grown to love painting, especially when I was listening to the great works of Bob ross while doing it.

As for Covid itself, My family and I were pretty lucky for the most part, we didn't catch covid until the beginning of 2022 and never caught it since. To me it just felt like a really strong case of the Flu, I lost my taste and my smell for a while but thankfully I got it back within a week. To be honest at first I was scared of covid when it began but by 2021 I wasn't really, I just tried to live my life as much as I could and continue forward, like I promised my Mother that I would do before she passed away. 2021 was the year I actually graduated from Community College but ended up going back to finish up my other degrees because The University that I wanted to go to didn't accept me at the time. (Now I'm actually going!) I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do as a secondary major and one was becoming a science teacher because it was one of my 2nd biggest passions, but that proved to be too much work for me to handle and I would've been going to college for several more years, So Graphic arts it was.

2020-2021 while it was hell was also a year of great change to me, I became closer in my christian faith thanks to my family and my friends at the church I go to, and also becamse closer with the friends I still talk to today, both online and in real life. I picked up new games and new hobbies during the lockdowns and still feel some sort of sentiment towards them.

basically did my entire time at uni (just finished at the end of last year) during it, so was definitely a non-standard experience I suppose.

I think in general 2020 kinda sucked for the first half. I was in a uni hall (kinda like a dorm for the 'muricans), but I had a room that faced into an interior with meh food, and with 99% of people heading back to their parents house in other cities (I could've but chose not to). So couped up in a small room, with no natural light, definitely sucked. However, I was able to pick up a lot more hours at work (as I was working remotely), so that helped and the extra money was nice.

The other two years were fine. I live in NZ, so we had relative freedom for most of 2021, with a couple of smallish lockdowns until they moved away from zero covid. I was in a flat, with people I (mostly) got on with, in a standalone house, so plenty of space and natural light and stuff. Also had my own means of travel, so it was much easier to drive the couple of hours to my parents house if I wanted to get away from uni for a weekend or something.

Classes online sucked since it was harder to focus. Exams online was a vast improvement, as you could actually do what you do in real life and research and find information and construct an intelligent answer, rather than just cramming what you could remember and regurgitate in my exam. Overall about half my exams were online during the course of the degree and half weren't.

but the social aspect didn't bother me much. I lived in a very student-y town, so there was definitely a lot of people that hated the fact that they couldn't go party and stuff, but that was never a particular interest for me (shocking I know)

may as well go into more detail.

I had to change my major due to the pandemic if I’m being honest. Because I had a skill issue and *failed!* But hopefully with any luck I’ll be finishing this year and finally move on with my life.
I’ve semi moved on from Minecraft, not entirely by my own choice. Sea of Thieves, Dead by Daylight, and Sims have done a wonderful job filling that void though.
I caught covid in January 2022 and November 2022. I kicked its ass both times. Felt like shit for 1-2 days and then was fine, though 2nd time I missed like 3 weeks at work because my boss was paranoid.

Grew my beard out, grew my hair out, multiple depressive episodes, got my first job and almost lost it due to getting covid in summer 2021, and spent most of the time playing guitar in my room

Been travelling everywhere since it all ended though, making up for the time lost tbh
Also developed a massive love for Guinness and whiskey
