Here's a thread where people can share their builds. I have had 5 PCs as far as I remember, with two of them being regular PCs. Out of the 5, 3 of them are gaming rigs. I'll share my budget build for now, maybe I'll show my other build some other time.

This build was made around mid-2019. I can provide a list of parts for those curious. It runs a Gigabyte RTX 2060 6GB OC and an Intel i7-9700K. The monitor is the ASUS Tuf Gaming VG278QR Gaming Monitor.

Let's not talk about the cable management, I gave up on that xd

Out of curiosity, assuming you play with your chair facing towards your laptop, don't you find it a hassle to constantly look left at your monitor? Or do you play games on your laptop screen and just use the monitor for other activities.

Also, I noticed that your mousepad is Victsing. I thought it was a Chinese brand this entire time that was just being marketed in the Asian countries as I've never heard of it until I came across it in a shopping website. Cool to see the brand being used by those outside of Asia.

EDIT(?): After a bit of research whilst making this post, I realized that this brand is actually known internationally.

Might as well just get my PC build-out in the open and most of you probably know how shit it is by now lol

Let me go through what I got, starting with specs:
    - Around 900 GB of storage
    - 8GB of Ram
    - (I think) 390GHz of speed
    - An Intel i3-7100 CPU (apparently it's very outdated and sucks)

For monitors, I didn't actually buy new ones and never will, I have two very old monitors but they work just as they were out of the box. I bought my first one (was originally a Samsung TV but since I took over the setup it's mine), it's around maybe a little 10 years old but it's still good as new. I wanted a second monitor for a while last year (?) in September 2020 and I didn't want to buy a brand new one so my dad looked around in his shop (he's a carpenter and has his own shop) and he found an old old Dell monitor from long ago (maybe early 2000s) and it works perfectly. As for headphones? Well uh, I lost count considering I break on average 10 pair of headphones in a year so I hop from another to another, and for my keyboard it's Fenifox and my mouse is Magic Eagle.

My PC is considered a "gaming" PC but since it can only handle Chrome, 1.8.9 (specifically, nothing else) version of Minecraft, Discord and Spotify. Nothing else. Quite bad I know lmao don't remind me

(As a matter of fact, Chrome just froze for a minute typing this help)

I'm planning to get a new entirely new PC built for Christmas this year, with hopefully all of these specs:
    - Around 900 GB of storage
    - 26GB of Ram
    - A good CPU at least, haven't chosen
    - Hopefully better speed
    - A good NVIDIA GPU

Again, anyone can recommend me good CPUs (that can handle big programs) and GPUs, including you Netherr haha

I'll keep my monitors too as I don't really like fancy ones, fancy cases, cool-looking PCs, what matters to me is that as long as it can run cleanly and smoothly then I'm happy with it.

I'm hoping to start editing on AE (After Effects) on the new PC as I want to improve my editing and finally stop relying on pre-presets on CapCut, lol

Anywhoo, here are pictures of my setup (I can't photo shut):
I know my desk is messy, don't remind me I'm horrible at organizing

If I am to be honest, the desired specs you want seem to be a bit out of place. What exactly do you want to do with your computer? If you want to do edits and rendering, both video and digital art, you'll definitely need more than 1TB of storage, especially if you want to play games on it as well. If you really want to stick to 1TB, I suggest you get that as an HDD and get an SSD of at least 256GB for your drivers and main application.

I looked up the minimum requirements for After Effects and apparently, 32GB is the recommended. I can't make too many comments on this since I don't use such applications. If you can get away with only 16GB, that would be cool.

As for the processor, contrary to popular belief, the latest Ryzen and Intel processors are pretty much on equal levels. However, I heard that there wasn't such a big bump-up from the 11th gen Intel from the 10th gen ones so that's why people are disappointed.

Regarding the graphics card, I can't really make much suggestions right now since I don't know your budget and what you want to do with it aside from After Effects and Minecraft. Although prices are starting to drop, unless you don't mind paying a premium or you can get one for SRP, I don't suggest you buy now. I heard that AMD is making graphics cards which are putting NVIDIA's to shame so maybe you should consider those as well.

Also, I hate to break it to you but your monitors, or at least, from what I can see, won't do your PC justice. The specifications of your monitor, combined with the fact that it probably does not support DVI ports will limit you from using your PC to its fullest potential. So you'll probably have to upgrade them. Thankfully enough there are a lot of budget monitors out there that can do the job relatively well.

If you can give me a more in-depth explanation with what you plan on doing with your computer, maybe some of the community members or I may be able to give you some recommendations.

i know i have a gordon on my desk shut he's my favourite engine

Though I don't play games often anymore (because of how bad my PC is), I'd like to play a few games on my PC.

But to me, the main priority is editing, rendering and gaming.

Again, I don't know much about PC specs so these were just recommendations, I have no idea what the budget is either my parents are paying for all of it.

For my monitors, replying to what you said, my dad is a bit sketchy about monitors and he dislikes using more money than he should so that's why I'm hesistant about getting new monitors. I believe both have a DVI port but don't quote me on that, they're both HDMI and they've worked wonders but if I'll have to upgrade, I'll upgrade (depending on my dad at least lol, he's a wonderful person don't get me wrong, he's sketchy with money)

The games you'd like to play will play a crucial role in determining what kind of GPU you'd like. Considering that you want to get into rendering, you'll need a relatively powerful GPU as a baseline already. Depending on whether or not you want to play triple-A title games at over 60FPS on 4k resolution will determine if you'll need something like let's say a RTX 3070.

HDMI is okay and all, but from a gamer's perspective, DVI is better.

Honestly, as long as I can play games well on normal settings then that's enough for me, I don't really care much for it being on the highest setting.

What's the difference between DVI and HDMI?

DVI only supports video, while HDMI supports both audio and video. There are more differences but I cant be bothered to remember them

Would show a photo, but it in a bit of a terrible spot, so can't really.

    Anyway, specs:

    CPU: i5-8400
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 SLI (yes I know that you don't need Z370 for 8th gen i5's, but I got the CPU not long after the platform was released, and the B-series motherboards didn't exist yet).
Memory: 16gb of some brand of memory that I can't remember (Ripjaws I think?)
Graphics card: ASUS Strix 960 (can you tell whether I play many games lol)
Cooler: Some random 240 Coolermaster AIO
    PSU: Evga Supernova 750 G2
Storage: 1 TB Samsung 960 NVMe SSD, 4 TB Samsung 980 SATA SSD, 500 GB Kingston SSD, 2 TB Seagate SSHD (don't really use it anymore)
Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 (wouldn't be the case I would get now, but was cheap at the time)
Other: Custom cablemod red/black cables, a red LED strip, a WiFi/Bluetooth card and a DVD drive (not even sure if it works anymore)
    Monitors: 1x Dell 24" 1440p IPS display, 2x Phillips 21" 1080p IPS display
Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Chroma (again wouldn't buy it nowadays, but I had a voucher for a electronics retailer a few years ago, and this was the only mech keyboard they had)
    Mouse: Razer Basilisk
Headset: Sennheiser something (not sure exactly, but it's reasonably nice)
Webcam/Mic: Literally a potato (actually some terribly cheap Logitech one)
OS: Ubuntu 21.04 (also have Windows 11 dual booted, but haven't used it in a while)

For my next upgrade, I'm tossing up between a better CPU (most of the stuff I do is pretty CPU bound) or a better GPU (as the VRAM limitations on the 960 are a bit problematic), but since I've just upgraded my storage, it'll be a while before I do anything.

Also got some servers at home, but their specs aren't super interesting (one is just some ancient Xeon, with a comparably ancient Quadro, a bunch of hard drives and a TV tuner, the other is literally a Celeron)

    Update on my post above:
Sold the 32" TV for a 27" monitor that supports VESA mounting. I bought a monitor stand and installed it with my monitors on the other side of the desk. It gave me more space to bring my PC up top so now I have a bunch of pretty lights.
