I have always had a dream of seeing this serer grow again, do you guys ever think it will happen, or any ideas of what we can do to make it grow again??
No. The future of Minecraft is not Java edition, and even then Mojang/Microsoft are more interested in funnelling players into their marketplace and a select few big servers that are deemed family friendly. There's just no way for a Java edition server, that's predominantly running on a version of MC released 6 years ago to get big nowadays
it will not reach the levels it did years ago. that's almost impossible and it's the sad truth. java edition multiplayer, the way JH is, is going to be dead in the future. the future of minecraft java is almost exclusively hypixel, modded servers, or SMP servers. mineplex fell off, jh fell off, hive fell off, every big server fell off except hypixel. of course, player counts will influx like when new factions releases or if, god forbid, something like covid happens again it is possible for a bunch of players to come back like we saw but it will never be how it was.
I don't know if they can ever become big again, erectile disfunction is very difficult to cure. Let's hope they do though! Best wishes. No. Al though player count can definitely increase, it can never reach the old prime it had. I just don't see it happening to any server, because you're years behind the competition. Even if took out loans to hire an entire team you're still only given a small chance of succeeding in todays server competition. We've given it our best fight and will have to move on soon.
I like the phrase 'never say never', for it isn't entirely impossible for IJAH to become big once more... but the things that would have to happen and fall in place for this to come to fruition make it practically a pipe dream, a less than 1% chance. Hypixel is so big not because of the uniqueness it holds, with its vast library of numerous different mini-games and open world serves it has to offer, but because of how long it's been at the top of the totem pole. Let's look at some past mini-games IJAH added that were popular within the community at first, before slowly dying out soon after: Skywars UHC Build Battle Survival Games These mini-games started out strong and had consistent player bases at some point or another, but they eventually slowly died out. I think it majorly has something to do with the Hypixel effetc. Hypixel, and other servers with larger, more concurrent playerbases for that matter, incorporate these mini-games already, some with their own unique twists and spins on them, as well. And, being that these servers are already popular and have hundreds, if not thousands of players playing them at all times of the day at the same time, what would be the benefit as to playing on a server with a small, tightly knit community like IJAH where games rarely fill up completely (and if they do, it's usually the same players or a similar group of players playing each time) over one like Hypixel, where you're guaranteed to get into an active game each and every time, with fun and unique different twists and spins on their take of it. I think peer pressure adds some depth to this, too. People new to Minecraft see how large Hypixel is; they see all the different fun things it has to offer, how it appeals to different types of players. Why wouldn't they want to become a part of this? They're guaranteed to see something new each and everyday they play on Hypixel, with the potential of meeting various different unique people with different types of personalities. For a new player, what benefit would they have to choosing a tightly knit community like IJAH with a small library of games, most of which are already offered on Hypixel or other big networks. This is why I think that as long as Hypixel continued to be funded, and as long as Minecraft stays alive, Hypixel will never die and continue to forever rule over the landscape of this game's community.
Unfortunately, everything dies out at some point. Although I’d like to see JaH become big like it was a few years back, I’d doubt it would ever happen again. It’s the sad truth, but at least we were able to keep memories and remember them from time to time. For now, let’s make most of what the server has left.
I have put a lot of energy and focus into this topic over the last year with J&H. Since November 2019, we've reconstructed or revamped the entire server. All our competition servers had multiple iterations and changes: Prison went through seasons 6, 7, 8, and the big update in season 9. Kitpvp went through seasons 8, 9, 10, and this Nostalgia season with each season seeing some pretty big updates. Factions had seasons 14, 15, and 16. Again with some pretty big changes and reworking to cannons and problem solving (yeah, went through some bigs bugs too). The Hub was given the massive renovation which featured 4 mini-games, including the revival of spleef, many new parkour maps, OITC which got its first big revamp in years, and HC. This allowed our Hub to be lively and welcoming for new players. Cool enough, that worked. Hub is probably the most used server now! Whoo! But after all those updates, the only one that seemed to have a real impact was the Hub Update. I think the reality is that the Skyblock updates success (or failure) will probably determine the realistic future of the server. Do we aim for long-term things and consider things like Survival again? Update Creative? Or do we go back to trying to breathe what little life we get from the competition servers and wait out the end. We'll see. I don't, personally, think this server will ever see over 500 players again. But I do think we'll see some nice population spikes over the next couple of updates.
I think the pandemic helped in a sense, hopefully those new players stay --- Post merged --- Yea def me as well
