This season, I and many other players have seen a change in bowboosting. It seems as if after the first bow boost, there is a delay to the boosts you try to do in a chain (multiple bow boosts without hitting the ground). This is significantly different from last season, and the skill of bow boosting is now just spamming arrows, hitting the ground, spamming more, etc. It has always been something that you practice to get better than other people at so you'll be able to chase them or run from them better than they can do to you. This delay takes all of the skill out of bow boosting.

This delay also encourages the team2win aspect of kitpvp, as if you get a couple people on your side, the solo player will have no chance of escaping. Earlier, a couple of my teammates and I were doing this and I noticed a massive difference from this season's bow boosting compared to others, it has become less of a skill and more of something that you can pick up right away and be as good as anyone else at it.

Here are some clips to see the difference, both on lunar client 1.8, the only difference is the kitpvp season.

    Last season

    2:05
    2:50
    3:55
    5:10
    6:06

    Here's this season

    0:00
    0:20
    0:47
    1:01
    1:15

There's a few more timestamps that show it, but this season has a delay on arrows hitting your body it seems, which makes bow boosting less about skill and timing, but more about spamming arrows and hoping they hit you.

There have been no changes or edits to bow boosting or anything that would impact bow boosting.

I can't speak for how you feel, I can only speak for the actual code.

Bow boosting has its own custom knockback and is not impacted by any knockback changes or play changes we make to the server itself.
Hit delay was not changed (nor should it impact bow boosting anyway).
The custom code that operates bow boosting has not been touched or changed since its implementation near the end of Season 8.
There is an automatic chance for arrows to "miss" you, built into the bow boosting code, but again, that has not changed since Season 8.

Of all the changes we have made, there have been no changes that would impact bow boosting.

    I definitely feel the delay.

Ezzer I hear you out but even if the code hasnt changed something in the new reset probably provoked this change in bowboosting, I think I speak for everyone when I say we just want you to please look into this and maybe try fix it instead of telling us that ''nothing changed with the code'' and shrugging it off

I did look into it. That's why I'm telling you nothing changed. There is no identifiable cause that would make last season different from this season. There is literally only a handful of things that effect bow boosting:
Rate of fire (speed that you can pull back bow and release to shoot the arrow)
Hit delay (rate at which that arrow can hit you, which appeared to be the complaint)
Knockback (force at which arrow throws you in desired direction)
Auto-fail (Custom rate at which arrows will automatically miss you)

All of which have been looked at. None of which are different from last season.

So because we are experiencing a delay in our arrows hitting us, would you be able to lessen the hit delay to better match the gameplay of last season?

Unfortunately, hit delay impacts more than just arrows. Unless we write our own custom hit detection, lowering the hit delay would bring normal combat closer and closer to combo mode the more it drops down.

I don't think there is a good short term solution here.

No, it's not. If you were capable of reading, you'd know that already. A knockback profile that only impacts combo mode in kitpvp has 0 impact on bow boosting. Especially when bow boosting doesn't use any knockback profiles but has it's own custom knockback.

As of this post, a custom hit delay for bow boosting has been implemented into the bow-boost logic. According to 2 testers so far, it's "definitely better"

    /c

    Edit-
Another patch has been added and word on the street is that bow boosting (among other things) are significantly improved now. GG, Enjoy.
