My Ban Opinion

(Do not attack me for expressing my feelings lol)

I don't normally post on here, but I wanted to express my opinion. Recently I was banned permanently not for any of my actions, but my brothers actions attempting to use a hack client on the itsjerryandharry server on his account that he does not use anymore. Unfortunately this lead to my perm. banned since we used the same ip address. Since this wasn't directly my fault I decided to write a ban appeal with a high hope that it would get appealed. My appeal was not approved for the reason of "I am responsible for my account and what happens on my ip." Which to me seems a little un-sensible considering I have been on this server since mid 2013 and also donated $50. They told me "I will have to buy an un ban." This seems to me like a money hungry move on the server's part, I can control what happens on my account, but I obviously I can't control other people's actions on my ip. So considering all of the actions that have happen, I don't feel the need to buy an un ban. If the server want's to loose a loyal player over something so absurd then go right on ahead.

 

This was put in place mainly for the fact dozens of people lie about it being their siblings.
It isn't our responsibility to keep control of your family, it would go better if you simply talked things out with your brother and then paid the fee.

Making a thread here isn't going to change anything regarding your ban.

 

That could’ve been mentioned when my appeal was denied. I did not post this here to “change anything regarding my ban.”like I said, I was posting this to express my feelings regarding the matter. I understand that people lie about this, but taken into consideration the rank I have purchased, I wouldn’t “risk the chance” of being banned to cheat. Although I do respect the implement put in place, instead of just automatically denying an appeal for certain reasons, the appeal could be further looked into or reduce the penalty of time.

 

here's my 'guideline' to sibling IP bans:

'you're responsible for what happens on your IP' is a very valid argument. it's a big hassle to sniff out every hacker individually, it was especially hard during the era of free alt generators, so that's why they just ban the IP rather than every single account individually. jnh have to deal with hackers a lot, as the server, a low-populated, less popular one, is an easy target to hack on due to the fact that jnh is a community that knows each other (mini-game to mini-game) rather than a large community like hypixel or even mineplex, where they have distinctive anti-cheats to ban hackers (which are shitty but still work to an extent).

it costs $12 for an unban and, while i do see that as expensive, is an okay price (considering that the price is consistent rather than rising every ban like other servers). if you can't afford it, sorry to say, but you won't be unbanned by saying 'pwetty pwease uwu.' actually, you should be grateful that you got banned in the era where unbans are buyable. think about the time when there was no purchasable unbans and you actually did have to get on your knees and beg for an unban (which is unlikely in the first place)

as Cheezi stated, many people lie about sibling bans to get a free pass for hacking. it isn't the server's job to control your family, that's your job. to avoid future issues like this, ask your siblings to either hack on other servers or to pay the fuck up for the unban lmao

tl;dr: too bad lmao, just buy an unban. jnh can't ban every single hacker that steps foot onto the server, silly
