Congress still has to pass this. They can overrule the voting and keep Net Neutrality in place.
Those in America, please continue to do your best to help reach out to congress so they do not pass this.
It's our last chance now, let's hope they actually care about public opinion, unlike some of those at the FCC.

This is for any of you would like to read into this some more. I’m talking about 210 pages more.

    Some things I found interesting.
    1. Many of the largest ISPs (Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Cox, Frontier, etc.) have committed in this proceeding not to block or throttle legal content. These commitments can be enforced by the FTC under Section 5, protecting consumers without imposing public-utility regulation on ISPs.
    2. The FTC’s unfair-and-deceptive-practices authority “prohibits companies from selling consumers one product or service but providing them something different,” which makes voluntary commitments enforceable.502 The FTC also requires the “disclos[ur]e [of] material information if not disclosing it would mislead the consumer,” so if an ISP “failed to disclose blocking, throttling, or other practices that would matter to a reasonable consumer, the FTC’s deception authority would apply.”503
So according to the FCC, the FTC (Federal Trade Commision) prevents blocking and throttling of content because that’s what ISPs are advertising and they must be held accountable. If an ISP decides to place a paywall on content, they must explicitly disclose this.

For me, it will affect my ability to watch all my favorite sports teams since I live in a different state than them (college). I normally watch streams found on reddit, which are technically illegal. No net neutrality will for sure have ISP providers blocking out those illegal streaming sites. Legally for the NFL, it costs $69.99 per month ( 279.96 for the 4 month season). NBA costs $199.99 for the season. NHL costs $169 to watch my team for the season. MLB costs $84.99. That's a total of $734 just to watch my favorite sports teams each year. That's absolutely ridiculous, so I will freak out about this. If congress doesn't do something about it, I will be without my favorite leisure activity that keeps me sane. Sports are very important to me, and Ajit Pai can go to hell.

Trump doesn't decide all. He's not the entire congress.

If this cripples the internet as much as people claim it will, then Ajit Pai is literally setting America back another 20+ years.

Great work, America, we'll all be sent back to the stone age at this rate...

Maybe you guys should be fighting the shitty ISPs as they'd be the ones deciding if they want to throttle.
If any ISPs did that here, they'd lose customers quick.

Ajit seems like a shitty guy, sure. But I don't believe him to be the bigger problem.

I'm sorry but I find it difficult to keep calling the United States a democratic nation when a decision as significant as the repeal of net neutrality is in the hands of 5 people. Isn't the general public's voice supposed to go beyond a like to dislike ratio on a YouTube video?
I know that many people have made this point very clear, but I just cannot stress this enough: Everyone wants net neutrality. The only ones who 'suffer' from these regulations are the Internet service providers themselves. So it perplexes me how the FCC has the power to make such an unfair revocation without asking the thoughts of those affected by it.

Except you can't because many towns only have 1 or 2 ISPs, so you have the choice between either a shitty ISP or no internet at all.
Can't "lose customers" when they have nowhere else to go to.

Pfft, why listen to the public when the ISP's are paying you big money to make sure the decision is predetermined in their favour.

    Again, shitty ISPs.
We have several to choose from and almost nationwide coverage.
(A quick search reveals we have 37 larger ISPs in Australia).

So the problem is definitely with the corrupt ISPs bribing states and towns to keep it their territory.
I'm not saying the ISPs are the only thing wrong here but why keep NN if the ISPs are going to be corrupt and shit anyway?
