As you know, about a week ago, a low pressure area formed. Now its the well-known Hurricane Irma. Hurricane's story: Aug 30: A low pressure forms in Africa. It begins to intensify. Aug 31: The low becomes a tropical depression. Here it all begins. Sept 1: The depression becomes a TS. It recieves the name "Irma". Later it becomes a Category One hurricane Sept 2: Irma hits category 3. (Major). Begins to debate between 2 and 3. Sept 3: Irma hits Category 4 while it moves trough the islands. Sept 4: Irma becomes a Category 5 hurricane. Winds go up to 160 mph Sept 5: The hurricane moves trough the caribbean ocean. Sept 6: Irma becomes the strongest hurricane in the Atlantic's history. Hits Puerto Rico. Sept 7: Hurricane Irma is declared the Strongest Hurricane in History. Expected track: Irma is expected to move trough the Caribbean islands until it reaches Cuba. After that, It should take a sharp turn to the north into Florida (Date expected to hit Florida's coast: Sunday September 10th at 1 AM Cone Images. The radar has been absolutely gorgeous. I've been following it since it left the coast of Africa. Keep in mind I'm a weather geek and my brother is a Marine Meteorologist. When we were kids (think like 30 years ago) we used to sit outside in lightning storms. Not many storms have me nervous. This one.... I have many friends and family in the path. Then Jose follows up. My brother said more or less whoever is in the path is pretty screwed. He doesn't normally say that.
