I miss the old J&H

Hi guys,
I just wanted to share my honest opinions about what this server, and what J&H's channel has become.

I joined this server December 2013 (it's been a year!!??)
It used to be such a nice community. It felt so close. J&H joined the server and interacted with their fans regularly. There were no OP donator perks. The server did not feel like one of the generic big time servers. And it was centered around survival. With mini games being on the side. Donating was mainly to support the server. All was well... until one day...

The server went to shit uh.. oh! I mean uh.. was "Revamped"! :D

It became what I hated. The generic big server. "Donate 4 Pets! Donate 4 Disguise! Donate 4 Fly!!"

Survival just became one of the mini games you could join. J&H became much more inactive with the community. They stopped caring about the fans. We are what make their channel what it is. If they can't make time for their fans then why should we? And it didn't feel close anymore. Felt like the community was gone. And just when you think that it couldn't get worse..

Survival was closed...

They said that it had to do with factions and other things breaking, and that they didn't know what to do with it. That was understandable. But it still has not been fixed today. Survival was closed SUCH A LONG TIME AGO.. I don't even remember when that was. There is NO EXCUSE for this.

If it is broken then just reset it. It isn't that hard. It should take a week or 2. Month at most.

Also IMO (In my opinion) their new videos are not very good. And kind of boring.

I just don't know what happened. Maybe J&H have a new sense of humor now. They just can't make videos like their old ones anymore. That is not their fault.

But the worse thing of all is the way they treat their fans now, it is just sad. Very sad. The server is NOT improving. It is worsening.

That is all what I wanted to say. I have wanted to share this for a very long time now. Get this off my chest.

These are all just my opinions so please don't hate me for them.

I appreciate that you expressed your true feelings, but what I don't get is why people keep talking about the past.
It's not helping the community at all.

Seriously, if you were new here, would you enjoy seeing threads made everyday saying the server is horrible?
I wouldn't think so.
It's creating a bad impression on this community and it's just not helping.
If you think it's so bad, then leave.
Some people here actually appreciate the server itself and all people are doing with these types of threads is just bringing down the whole spirit of the community.

I just don't get it.

Keep in mind, I do not support the following.If the server is so bad just leave. Don't start complaining to us about it. There are already about 5000 of these.

 

1. The server used to be better - There are two reasons J&H isn't what it used to be:

• J&H have a busy real life, so they can't be on all day.
• The expanding community is continuously adding a pool of lots and lots of new members

We can't really change that, sorry.

2. Server was better when it was centered on survival - I really truly have to agree. If I could I definitely would make the server survival-centric again with minigames on the side.

3. Generic big server - I agree here again, but the one good thing is that besides the server necessities (spleef, SG, etc) they have original minigames. J&H were the first people to make OITC in Minecraft. Everyone else copied them. It will be better again once survival is up.

4. Survival - J&H are almost ready here, they just need to wait for the plugins to update. But I agree that it doesn't seem hard to just create a new world and they could've done it in at most a week or two.

5. How they treat their fans - Read number 1.

TL;DR: I agree on most of it but some of the points were really rather generic.

 

I would agree on the server changing and jerry and harry becoming less active but there is no need to call there videos crap, c'mon there videos are great and they don't have anything to do with what happened to the server. You have a right to your opinion but some things you should keep to yourself.

 

Yes, I miss the old server and stuff. But if we do our best, we could make the "new" server at LEAST as good as the old server.

Note this is NOT A POST TO COMPLAIN!!!!. But this is how:

• Bring survival back ASAP.
• Get more helpers, to stop the rulebreakers.
• Bring some old minigames back(?????) (Paintball, MobArena etc.)
• Stop. Complaining. About. The. Server. Because. It. Will. Only. Make. It. Worse.

 

Jesus, you guys are being more negative about "This place was so much better in the old days" threads than the threads themselves are.

 

Well I understand your point and where you are coming from but not everything stays the same.
Jerry and Harry work really hard for this server to become a better place but they have some important things in real life to be doing.
Even saul1337 said in a thread that Jerry and Harry work hard on this server and more than you know but I am guessing they don't have enough time to spend with their fans.
We all know the owners are inactive most of the time but at least you can still see them on the server. But posting a thread like this is not really helping the community. Most people love this server the way it is but you have to move on from the past and just deal with it, if not then leave.

It is all I have to say and I don't want to start a flame war with you because their no point in having one. Like I said "I understand your point" but please understand mine.

Look, I know you miss the old server, don't we all?
We have all expressed that in one way or another. But this... How does this help us?
Honestly, I've agreed with some threads expressing interesting new points (especially those regarding recent things) but this is old news, at least in my opinion.
We have more or less received confirmation that survival will not only be back but it will be back relatively soon.
But a ton of complaining threads... They won't help anything, dude.
Yet this reminds me of something from long ago... No matter. Threads like these in the end of the day will only make the situation worse. Only action shall form a result.
And that is an action impossible to complete.
I agree with some of what you say, but still...

remember this, they got 3 things to tell you what IJAH does, one thing is Their yt channel, The second thing is plugins and the third thing is THE SERVER. how would you do all of that in one day, huh?, Hard hey?. they are trying to do their best so chillaxe man and wait...
