Honestly I agree with what some of the people here have said about it being a family.
Even though I may have been playing in-game for a while I haven't been on the forums long at all but from old threads I've seen it looks like there was a bigger sense of community a couple of years ago rather than there is now. So as people have said above the people who are here now need to show the newer players how to not be toxic by being less toxic ourselves (myself included).

I believe Minecraft is dying a bit, let's face it every game has its peak and it will die out eventually. I do believe it may not be it's time yet, but seeing how this server is on Minecraft and Minecraft is dying at a slow rate it will affect the server along with other servers as well. There are still a good amount of older players who still hang around even if they fully quit, possibly just to see what's going on. Some people also do not like change it can be good depending on how the change is though and how fast they can adapt to that change. I've been on the server for a few years not the forums, but I recently joined so I can stay in touch with the announcements and upcoming events and reach my old friends that I haven't seen in forever. We do have our awesome Donators to keep the server going so thank you for that!
