I'm sure many of you wondered why there are so many "stupid" people that exist on the internet. Remember, it's not entirely their fault. This is an explanation why they are the way they are. 1. Childhood Influences Many people tend to take on the beliefs that their families hold. The reason why terrorists in the Middle East exist, is because of this. These terrorists grow up being told that Islam is the true religion and others who oppose it are heretics. These beliefs catch on to them, and they are led to believe this, hence why they think Islam is the true religion and why they hate the western culture. In more general cases, some people are raised in an environment where people around them hold certain beliefs, and they catch on to these beliefs quickly, because it's what they perceive as "right" because as a young child, they are so exposed to them they start to catch on to them. 2. Not interested in News Several wealthy teenagers seem "stupid" because they don't rely on news n0r are they interested in them. News channels inform us about what's happening and give us the basic understanding about world standards. These people who don't read or watch news have no knowledge about these world standards, hence why they seem "stupid" to us. They are incredibly misinformed and they tend to take the wrong beliefs and approaches. The reason why they ignore news is because they have an attitude where they only care about themselves and want to "live their own life". This attitude results in them not being as well informed as we are. They are in fact not stupid, but ignorant. 3. Unreliable news sources. Several people who do rely on news do read or watch unreliable sources. Some people believe that Bush was the greatest US president of all time, because the news sources they rely on state this as a fact. This results them in being misinformed, and therefore warping their views on the world. This is why we have many people who believe the wrong thing. An example would be people relying on Fox News. They rely on this as a trustable news source, where in fact they are extremely biased. This is why we have several people who support Donald Trump as a presidential candidate, because their news sources glorify people like him. Reliable news sources are CNN, BBC, Times and Wall Street Journal. They are unbiased news sources who present reliable information about current events. People who rely on these trustworthy news sources tend to be more informed and smarter and have more background knowledge. Questions that you must know the answer to: 1. Why are there so many more stupid people now than before? The reason is because, before, many people had more time to read the news and therefore are more well informed. Most news sources were reliable back then and tended to be reliable. For example, in India, people are more informed than people in the US. As absurd as it sounds to you, it is true. Those random taxi drivers in India or those farmers, they read newspapers everyday, and they know who the Prime Minister of India is and the history of the country, they also know a lot about current events. There are people in the US who don't even know who the first US president was. If you watch Jay Leno's Jaywalking shows, then you can see that there are lot's of misinformed people in developed countries. Another reason why you see an abundance of these ignorant people is because the Internet connects all of them to us, and it's much easier to see them from across the world. 2. Why can't these people know that they are misinformed? People that are misinformed in fact think we are misinformed. They believe that their new sources are reliable, because their beliefs and their approaches to life have been with them since their childhood. Remember, people's views on life come from the influences of childhood. We tend to be more informed and more knowledgeable because we are raised in an environment where people are well-informed and are open minded. Just as our beliefs cannot be swayed, theirs cannot. Remember, these people aren't "stupid", they are misinformed or ignorant. It is not entirely their fault that they are the way they are. A person's life is influenced by his surroundings. We are influenced by people who are knowledgeable and well-informed, and we rely on reliable news sources, so we seem "smarter". These people are influenced by wrong beliefs and rely on biased news sources, and therefore they tend to have the the wrong beliefs and do not know what the actual world standards are. Please remind yourselves, that these people aren't stupid, just misinformed.
I think the reason is religion. People forgot the whole idea of religion. Religion is used to moralize yourself, not to beat others up. If people remembered this then we wouldn't have social struggles for gays & pro-choice activists. Now don't get me wrong, religion is great, and the idea of it is great, but people have misused it for a while, and the misuse needs to stop. Another thing I would like to express is government control. My ideology behind government control and the idea of laws is that in America, we should be able to do what we want as long as it doesn't negatively effect citizens. Now many prolifers may ask "Then why is abortion allowed?" And that's because a fetus isn't actually a citizen. To be a citizen you have to either register from another country or be born in America. Continuing on, the government shouldn't be so intrusive over our lives. I am all for pro-choice & drug legalization because in reality, those are all choices by the citizen. Now private businesses & communities should ofcourse be allowed to tell people what they can & cannot do in their area, but the government shouldn't try to control us.
As I stated before, people become religious fanatics without realizing it. They are born into a family of fanatics, and they pick it up, for them, it's normal and to them, what they believe is supposed to be normal. Just like how we are raised and how we perceive our lifestyles as normal, they perceive theirs as normal. There's no way of getting rid of fanatics unless their children are exposed to the whole world and learn better.
Those who beat up others aren't considered to be part of that religion, since most religions forbid even cursing, like mine, for example. Extremists aren't supposed to be confused with normal religious people.
Then clearly, the concept of following a religion has been muddled and captured from dramatic angles by news sources so that the rest of the world is pissed off. It's a shame, actually.
People can be both against gay marriage and pro-life while also being a nihilist. I've seen it happen. The problem is not religion, but with ingrown stupidity. I like Karl Marx, and to me the idea of Socialism is impossible but perfect. That being said, religion is not an opiate for the masses, but an opiate only for the fools (in that it is not inheritantly bad, but fools turn it into a bad thing). The issue does not lie in religion, but instead in education and a lack of natural selection occurring throughout humanity. Religion has been misused just as all things have been misused. One can be foolish, and be an atheist. All the same, one can be intelligent, and be religious. What really plagues the world is ignorance. Religion and ignorance have nothing to do with each other, and in a world absent of religion, ignorance would still thrive.
Exactly, the world is not filled with stupid people, but it is filled with ignorant people. Religion isn't stupid, but the ignorant people who follow make it seem so.
