In which minigame/server does the bug occur: Survival
    Detailed description of bug:

This has been going on for a long time now.

When you lock your chests with /lock it locks the chests until the next server restart were it becomes unlocked again and people can open it again.

Now a person in my faction took advantage of this bug and stole from people's chests leaving me to figure out were their items went. I found the guilty and they were removed from the faction.

This is a big issue in survival if you don't want people getting into your chests

The developers need to just store the data in player configs instead of hashmaps. But @ZZTheNinja is right. *sigh*

Or... Tame an ocelot and make it sit on the chest!

They could kill the ocelot though.
Or move it by pushing it.

@ItsHarry Even if saved on onEnable(), hash maps will reset when the SERVER is turned off. Loading the config on your onEnable() will work if you store a boolean for chests being locked there. Just save the location of a chest and cancel the opening event if the player is not added to that chest! I use configurations MUCH more than hashmaps for this very reason.

I was gonna make this grow but it's getting too off-topic, in other words, you won...

Not off-topic, but...more or less against your way of people not getting into chests with an ocelot.
