September 11th

Aye, JWD here. I realize not everyone in this community is American, but this event was devastating enough to America that it definitely deserves its own thread.

September 11th, 2001, fifteen years ago, four planes were hijacked by terrorists. Perhaps the most known attack happened first, early in the morning, on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City. One plane flew into the North Tower, and another was flown into the South Tower. Both towers eventually collapsed. The third plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Washington DC. The fourth plane was aiming to attack the White House, where the President of the US lives, but a brave stand was made by the passengers of the plane, and they forced their way into the cockpit, and attacked. The hijacker was forced to crash the plane into a field in Pennsylvania, killing everyone on the flight. Those passengers are some of the more under-appreciated heroes of 9/11.

But the other heroes, the brave firefighters, policemen, and medical workers, they are the heroes of this day. Risking their lives to go into burning buildings to save countless lives. Their courage and bravery is unmatched.

Today is the day we remember that bravery, and appreciate the risks they took to save countless lives. These are one of the greatest heroes in American history. They will never be forgotten.

On this day, fifteen years ago, September 11th, 2001. Over 2,800 innocent people died. Another 350+ firefighters, policemen, and medical workers gave their lives to save others. Today we remember those people.

My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone that lost a family member or loved one on this day. Just remember, they gave their life to protect this country. They will never be forgotten.

I think the 9/11 conspiracy theorist should shut up already.

 

The worst thing is that people make jokes and memes about it...

 

I believe that 9/11 was a hoax for the patriot act to be passed.. I have other reasons not trying to be a dick, it was sad for all the people who died. But I still think it was planned.

 

I honestly don't get how people can believe it was planned. There's evidence out there, video clips, records, etc. that clearly show this was an attack by Al Qaeda. But, your opinion is your opinion.
