I honestly believe that with every update the concept of MineCraft gets more blurry and more distant of what it was supposed to be. A game which was first supposed to be about Mining and Crafting on an endless survival world has became something more complex. Not that it is something bad, innovation is obviously good but, I found MineCraft way more entertaining when I first played it back in later Alpha/early Beta than now. Innovation has turned it to any Sandbox game. MineCraft is losing its uniqueness with every update I believe. My opinion though :p
Although having some newer features was good, ever since 1.6 I believe Mojang just started pushing too hard for new items. It's these new items which ruin the game. Did we need new flowers, bats, granite and stuff, removal of gapples, ocean temples, etc? Willy, you being a builder, do you not agree having more blocks than original isn't too bad? Albeit you don't want too many blocks. Either way, minecraft is trying way too hard to be unique, which is ruining the whole aspect it aims to be.
Minecraft isn't like it was back in like the 2013-2013 days. My opinion is Mojang tried too hard to make minecraft better by adding all these cool stuff. Now the stuff they added is pretty cool in my opinion, but it just takes away the uniqueness when you play it. I kind of miss those days, when we were noobs at it, and didn't know how to survive our first night. Those days.
Everything doesn't last forever. Minecraft will eventually fade. You can't stop it. It already reached its peak back in 2013, and like what others said, the game is losing its uniqueness.
Minecraft... Yeah, I think I agree with you guys. Look the 1.9 version we got 2 weird hans coming with some stuff we don't want in this game. 1.8 is kinda okay for me but I hope the futur versions wouldn't be as much as the snapshot. Well I clicked yes because, we couldn't play on ItsJerryandHarry and if this happens I'll stay in the older versions. Notch should get back in mojang or ( MineCraft ). Well, I first started minecraft in 2011 on PC, In the old times it was alot of fun to build with others but now it's getting boring. Yea, that was my critics about the game.
I think one of the underlying problems is that ever since 1.6 the devs have been pressured to add something big to every update and make the next one bigger than the last (e.g 1.7: New biomes, stained glass. 1.8: Ocean temples and new blocks. 1.9: New combat mechanics and the End revamp). I actually think Minecraft should be more respectful to server owners and Mod/Plugin creators by starting to actually get on with the official API that was promised in 2012. I actually quite like some of the new blocks but things like most of 1.8 are actually completely unnecessary and didn't really need to be added. Also I think this whole "getting boring" thing is just part of the evolution of the game. Minecraft is still extremely popular with newer players. It's actually the older people who play multiplayer that are finding it boring (Not to mention full of highly immature kids) becuase they have been on MC for ages and the survival aspect has mainly stagnated. Whilst 1.9 will fix some of these issues and will be less unnecessary than 1.8 it won't fix Minecraft in general.
To be honest, I actually believe Minecraft is getting better and better with each update. It allows us to build more and do more than what we were previously unable to do/achieve. In my opinion Minecraft is not getting more boring, but actually more awesome in each and every update. Now I am NOT saying that each update gets right on the dot. Sure they were a few things that we want back, but is never going to comeback. However that is why we have launchers where we can go back to previous versions if we really liked those features that were removed or altered.(sadly, it will most likely be on single player. Since most servers have upgraded from previous versions) Minecraft in my opinion is suppose to allow us players to unleash there imagination, whether it be in single or multiplayer. In each update is allows us to do more and more. Now some people may say it is taking away from the original mindset of Minecraft. Which was just mining and crafting. Well we can still mine our way down, and we can still craft more and more than what we previously had. Now they were a few things that were added that was just stupid and completely unnecessary to add. However those we just have to deal with until it gets removed. Now no matter how you look at it, whether it is fun or boring for you. Minecraft will eventually die out and fade away.
