Today is the day we remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country. So many people lost their lives fighting for us, fighting for our freedom, for us all to be safe. Mothers that lost their sons and daughter due to ammunition. May be thinking, "why make a post about it?" Well because I care enough to make this thread, and for those to remember what happened. I know that you don't want to remember, but I believe it needs to be remembered. War was a pity, horrifying, dangerous but was complete necessary. You may think it wasn't needed., but think about how your country would be if we didn't fight these wars. Think about how USA and Canada might have turned out if we didn't fight together and win the Second World War. Think about the nuclear bombing in Hiroshima, how the world would be if we didn't do that? We wouldn't have freedom, we wouldn't be able to go to sleep not knowing if our house wasn't going to be bombed or not. Our soldiers didn't fight. I will repeat this over and over, they fought for our FREEDOM and our SAFTEY and in this society, a lot of people don't do anything and talk throughout the moment of silence. No one cares enough about those who fought for us, to just stand still, bow your head and just not talk or move. Everyone should respect Remembrance Day just like how we all respect 9/11, but Remembrance Day is more important in my eyes. But all I can say is, remember those who w lost, remember those who lost loved ones, one, daughters, parents, grandkids, cousins, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters. We Always Remember!
Kuch kuch wasn't, could get prevented by many things but okay thats just my history brain. I respect those who gave their lives to defend countries and innocent people. Its just not acceptable that war invluences everything and everyone, while its a conflict between most of the times politics. I went to Ieper (Belgium) last year (there were a lot of battles around Ieper in WWI) and there were cushions. Those cushions were made by women, who had lost their son(s) or husband. There went a lot of tears in those cushions and hopefully we never have to do that.
Agreed. Most war casualties in modern wars are actually civilians, and the next large war (will happen, hopefully not soon) will likely have nuclear force and demolish entire continents. Warfare is not easy, and that's why we have to honor freedom fighters.
