How to make a successful Staff Application Staff applications require a lot of work and dedication to make it an app worth reading. Sometimes people do not realize how much work and dedication that it takes to get accept as a staff member. If you do not think you have that amount of dedication than do not apply. I am making this thread in order to help people make their staff applications better even though I am not staff myself, I think I know plenty about making a staff application and I hope this helps everyone with their staff applications. How do you make an application? Well for those of you who do not know you make a staff application by going under the "Staff Application" section of the forums. Once you do that you MUST follow the format that can be found here: http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/tutorial-how-to-write-an-application.19/ If you do not follow this format you will have a 0% chance of getting accepted. You may be asking yourself "Why would they need a format?" Well this is in order for Jerry and Harry to make sure you cover all the points they want to know about you in your application. Suggestions when creating your Application Before creating your application I suggest reviewing accepted staff applications so you know how hard you have to work in order to be accepted. Here are some accepted threads to review: http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/i-guess-i-can-try.398/ http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/my-application.204/ http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/05ocram05s-staff-application-nov-4-2013.292/ http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/pandacaitys-moderator-application.902/ http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/staff-apply.276/ http://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/devins-staff-application.2095/ These are some of the accepted staff applications and these are all very good applications. When I say review them I do not mean copy and paste them into your application because that would be completely immoral and wrong also it would result in an immediate Denied tag on your application and a bad reputation on the community. Here is a list of things you want to make sure to do when creating your application: ---Use proper English and grammar in your application. This will make you sound very professional and mature and overall increase your chance of being accepted. ---Make your application look "Friendly to readers eyes" This will make your application more enjoyable to read, and it will look much better overall. ---Make sure to clarify everything. If a statement you make in your application is hard to understand, than people will obviously not understand and your application will not make sense. If you make sure you do all these things your application should be good! After your application is made After you make your application you have to make sure to do some things. You want to always be looking out for things that you might have missed when revising your application. If you do see something you messed up on make sure to click the "Edit" button under your application to change what you may have messed up on. Do NOT create a new application if you only want to edit your old one. Also you always want to be looking at your application and thinking of ways to improve in in any way you can. This will make it so your application can just keep getting better and better. A thing that staff will be looking for in your application is how you take constructive criticism. Make sure you reply to people's criticism nicely and make sure to follow the criticism because most of the times the person is right and if you change it, it will usually help your application. On another note, make sure you do not bump your staff application because it does not matter what page your staff application is on because staff looks at all of them, and the ones they like, they will review. It may take a while to get accepted like for one example it too LilaRok 5 months in order for her to get accepted. So make sure you are very patient before applying. I hope this will help everyone with their applications and good luck to you all!
This is a pretty good tutorial, but I remember someone did a tutorial like this before, and a staff member told him/her only staff members can make threads like this. Soo yeah... it's still good though, forum newbies should read this :)
I did not realize this but I did put a lot of work into this and I hope this can stay up for people to see in order to help them.
Very good application, though I like the way I did it, with a paragraphed form and a BB form. Thanks though, I will put them into mind if I edit my application at some point.
