Okay, so basically I think this the last of me on the server, well, I think. So basically my laptop has been acting up lately. Basically whenever I load up a single-player world It crashes along with not connecting to multiplayer worlds, and says Mojira Issue: (random numbers) I emailed one of the Mojang members the issue that was going on. Apparently I have to delete a firewall or anti-virus that was blocking Minecraft. He said to delete it, so I asked my dad If I could delete McAfee from the laptop. Ok first before I tell you, My dad loves McAfee, he thinks that it is the best firewall and Anti-Virus when it's just a piece of crap that is blocking all my steam games and Minecraft. And guess what? He said I couldn't delete McAfee, so I don't know If I can change his mind or not or have to leave gaming. That's pretty much all I have to say, thanks. ~Pickkles
I'm pretty sure you can just go into firewall settings and create an exception for the client(I'm not very educated on these kinds of subjects, but I think its javaw.exe).
It is unusual of MacAfee, to block software like steam and Minecraft. Your dad is right you need an anti-virus, I have Mcafee as well and I have never had any conflicts on Minecraft except adding a exception to allow connections on :25565 (Minecraft multiplayer) I suggest re-installing MacAfee and see what happens, MacAfee will help you with that, so just start a chat session with them. Also try reinstalling java, and resetting Minecraft and removing any mods.
McAfee is pretty slow, and it doesn't catch a lot of viruses, and doesn't support a whole lot of gaming. I recommend ESET NOD32, it's the best thing that's ever happened to my computer.
Honestly, I detest McAfee. My laptop, which is already slow due to viruses it failed to catch, is being further hindered by the incessant updates, background checks, and software downloads it does. It's more harm than good in my case.
Lol McAfee, how low quality. Get BitDefender, its amaaaazing. OK OK back on topic. Is it your personal computer? If so, why does your dad have any say in it?
Don't download anything stupid and you wont have to worry about viruses??? and buy your own pc/laptop
tell your dad that you want to game and explain you have friends online, tell him you cant leave them or something, ask him to consider getting a different software
Have you downloaded anything on to your Minecraft like mods that McAfee may not trust? Same goes for Steam games.
I would add Minecraft and steam to your exceptions, I don't know how to do it in McAfee, but I'm sure a quick Google search will help you
He/she's not looking for a new antivirus, so suggesting those is pointless. You should add your games and services to exceptions in your antivirus settings, and allow services like java in your windows firewall settings. There are millions of simple google tutorials if you don't know how to do it yourself.
