    Today (4th July in UK) was a non-uniform day for my school, and we had to wear something American.

    Something my friend did. If you are easily offended, I wouldn't open the spoiler.

    My friend was unusually offensive. He said it was bad for the Americans to celebrate the day they they were free from the British colony. He said much more, but I won't tell. I feel like I would offend some people. If you want to know what he said, send me a PM. Just to let you know, I am not with him. America can celebrate what they like.

    The Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence that day.
    So to them, they were officially free on 7/4. Of course, King George the 3rd hadn't known about what was happening on that day so there was much yet to come.
