so lately I have seen alot of grammar nazi's on the forums and on the server lots of people pointing out even the tinyest of mistakes I am here to ask you to slow it down so what someone makes a spelling mistake its not the end of the world all I am asking is please stop going completely crazy when someone makes a grammar mistake it gets really old after a while
what I find funny is that the people who usually correct others on their grammar are the people that make a lot of mistakes themselves but whatever (e.g., even a comment in this thread corrected you yet had a grammatical error) some people also do not realize English isn't everyone's first language but in the end you cannot stop people from correcting others as it's a part of our nature, and you will just have to ignore it unfortunately
I agree with it, however that sometimes I have the urge to do so myself, but I try to keep it in. It's not OCD, it's grammar pedantry syndrome where the person has the urge to correct every mistake and does so(trying to achieve perfection). OCD is way worse than you believe it is. (Just thought I'd let you know, don't kill me)
Honestly, I find nothing wrong with people correcting other peoples grammar because it really does help them improve somewhat. Let's be honest, nobody has perfect grammar however, there are some better then others, wherefore those people who are better then others may try to help the next person out. I see it as a person above who cares trying to help the next person below, so that way the person below can progress and maybe even become at the same level as the next person above. That is just what I think apparently.
I chose to use bad grammar sometimes, yet I correct other people. I know I'm not the only one so I guess we're all hypocrites. SEe what I did there
Grammar, more often than not, leaves an impression on others. People should not want to leave bad impressions by using horrible grammar. It makes others think they are unintelligent.
True, but a lot of the time it's unintentional. People should not let a grammar mistake define the way they view a person. Grammar can also be harder for some people, so just lay off a bit before judging them. They will learn at their own pace. When it is intentional, it is usually meant to not be taken seriously, and is used for effect.
