Gala: Afterthoughts

Well, the Gala has come and passed. Though it may not have gone entirely according to plan, we had a lot of fun!

That's the point I wanted to stress by hosting the Gala: having fun. Why exactly did we all join this server in the first place? Because we watched some silly Minecraft videos with fart jokes?

Well, sort of I guess, but we joined because we wanted to have fun. When you log into the server, what do you often see? People arguing with each other over trivial things, or people trash talking, hacking, and generally being really nasty to each other.

I want you all to remember that we're playing a game here. Games are supposed to help us forget how cruel life can be sometimes and just unwind and have a good time with all kinds of people. We're a community. We should be able to function as one and not cause uneeded drama with one another.

Do we really need to plan a huge party for us to play a game together without being at each other's throats? Or can we all get along together and just have fun without having to plan it?

I'm going to be keeping Rogue claimed over as long as I can to preserve everything in it. Thanks to everybody who participated in the Gala, and I hope to see you all and more at Gala 8 if someone decides to host it!

(Sorry if this makes little to no sense. I started typing this last night and finished today. The moment is gone so lmao)

I wish I could have participated. I'm sure it would have been fun.

Good on you for getting that point across. I think I forget it oftenly.

 

Even though it didn't go according to plan as you said, I had a lot of fun hanging around with everyone. lol
Peeps should host this stuff more imo, great way to meet new peeps from the community. The only downside is it takes a ton of planning/work :/

 

Yeah some of the events didnt go through as we planned, but in the end im happy we were able to bring the community together for some fun in these dark times.

I met a lot of new people during the Gala and im quite happy about it. Thanks for hosting this star. :)

 

GALA is awesome man, I had lots of fun. Hope to attend next Gala :)
