Agreed. But one question. When Will whe be able to change our names?

 

When Mojang releases the name changing update. The time is unknown right now but they say it's soon c: Trust me I've been wondering about this too :P

 

Factions and Survival.
No need to reset creative, a lot of peoples have done a lot of builds and works on it.
They can just make a new one or edit their plot to add in 1.8 things.

The maps are just full destroyed and look akward.

 

1.8 blocks wont come to creative, since bukkit is dead.

 

Yeah... And that took 3 months now everyone knows about it and will happen much faster if it resets

 

I don't mind about this, but here's a fact. If you reset Creative, you can start fresh by laying out the rules of Creative. Server staffs can take it easy a bit and moderate the server from the beginning and save the trouble of hunting down inappropriate buildings from the current builds. You can also set up a system whereby a staff is assigned to one sub server of Creative to speed up the process! So with multiple staffs moderating on each sub server, moderating the server will be easier. Sure, the players won't like their builds to reset. But just like Survival and Factions, you'll have more fun if you start over again!

 

Ok I need to comment again. I love how everyone here says that oh creative shouldn't be reset cause I have built so many things! But survival and factions should. no. None should be reset:

1. Creative: There are many many many many plots. I would know. Many people have done so much like Club Kick or whatever. No need to ruin everything.


2. Factions/Survival: Look in factions. Not many of you people even play anymore. I still play because I don't complain like some of you. There are factions disbanding and factions being created. Remember when there was rogue and Bambi and legendary? Yeah me either. All the land is coming back to us. We don't need a reset. Many people put a lot of money to get all there stuff. Funny thing is, The people who barely play factions are the ones wanting a dumb reset. I worked to hard to get my stuff. I honestly don't get how getting a new map will help anything...?

Creative only . Not survival or fanctions . The poor people will lose everything

 

I think survival and factions should be reset, when there come new players at survival or factions they can barely walk around without getting killed by OP people so they cant really "survive"
About creative: some people have some buildings that took them many time to make, a big amount of people also have great memories there

 

I believe that it could stay as it is, but update to the new 1.8, and allow mobs, weather, timecycle, etc.
Solution to prevent lag for weather:

1. Do /p biome Hell
2. Stand in the middle of your plot
3. ???
4. Profit

And as for factions and survival, I believe it should be reset to give us players a new challenge to be OP again.
As for creative, people can build different stuff again, 'nuff said. Also consider on enlarging the plots, so people won't have to waste time making a "new plot" on their plots.

 

Why not just update, and expand the world border?

You will still get all the new 1.8 stuff, just past the world border.

 

Gonna make this extremely short.
People are becoming extremely OP in Factions and Survival, resetting these would be fun to work with :)
However, resetting creative I don't agree with.
The only thing that will happen is:

Plots moving around.
People's hard work gone.
Memories, gone.​

I personally think that we should just update creative not reset it.

 

Well, I'd agree with resetting factions & survival, most of the reasons has been called out on my suggestion thread.

About creative, ofcourse there is a lot of spam going on about RPs and such.
Resetting it would (temporarily) stop the spam, however, everyone their plot will be deleted and unclaimed.

I'm sure and I understand why many people would disagree with this option, but let me just remind everyone, all plots will be available again, some plots have been claimed by people which don't even play on this server (anymore).
Another positive side of resetting the creative worlds is ALL offensive plots will be gone (for now), if any new offensive builds are created, you can easily report them.
But what I'm trying to tell here is, think about it. Don't instantly say no because you haven't thought twice.


And yea, about factions & survival, all new materials won't generate without a new map, ofcourse some people may think, 'Just add the new blocks in store already' but it isn't that easy. It would be much more easier if you could find all these blocks around the (under)world.
so in my eyes this really is a must.

I really want to start playing with 1.8 on creative, so yes for creative. Survival too, I really wanna go around and find temples. Factions reset would be ok, I mean like I don't really want my base to get deleted but ummm... idk

 

Definitely only factions and survival.

 

Creative Reset:

Pros: + Lag machines, offensive builds and inactive plots can all be sorted and reset.
+ Introduction of 1.8 blocks (they can just be added)

Cons: - Really nice and good builds people created will be gone.
- This will lead to alot of complaining.

Factions and Survival Reset:

Pros: + Everyone will be in the same boat for a while (in terms of materials, bases etc)
+ Introduction of 1.8 blocks (they can just be added)
+ Nice new map, free of ugly looking griefed bases (this will only be for a period of time)

Cons: - Massive amounts of complaining as people will have lost good items they worked hard for.
- Survival only: People will be disappointed that nice houses they have made or mini-town like factions have been reset.

Overall I think factions and survival should be reset because in reality, especially for factions, donators who had those Pre-EULA perks can no longer get these items very easily. So it should take alot more time to see a dominant faction on the server in terms of diamonds, god items etc. Creative shouldn't be reset as I think it is unnecessary and people have worked hard on their builds and/or currently working on them. Also you can just add the 1.8 blocks into creative. I am aware of the massive amounts of complaining if the maps get reset but if they put in hard work over time, they will lay off the complaints and move on with their time on the server.

If there was a way to request plots be world edited out and saved to be inserted later, I'd be all for clearing all the maps.

 

Let 'em stay. As long as people are playing, you're good. It doesn't matter if the maps are destroyed. I've got pretty good progress in both Survival and Creative and I don't want it to go away.
