I might be wrong, but I might as well try answering. I've hosted several servers from my computer and being owners of them was a hassle. The first bunch of people you get is barely any of them actually commending the server and literally everyone else is "give me a staff rank or else".
I've been booted off a few times because of that one time. You'll eventually get used to it, but it's a hassle setting up the server and setting up all its settings. My biggest challenge was that sometimes the IP I used for the server wasn't working, but through some elbow grease the server would usually be up and running.
The biggest number of people I have gotten was about 25-30 people average everyday. Sometimes, you should say "thanks" to the owner for setting up everything; it could take them days to hours. I hope I answered your question. :)
