My opinion about school.

I lovee my school sm because it's actually interesting and I love my friends :))

 

i don't like the school i go to because they barely offer anything. there's no classes for theatre kids, and there's only one show a year. So, normally I do most of my shows at other theatres w/groups. (And there's no drama club at my school which sucks) Also they might cut the art investigations class next year because for some stupid reason. If they do they, I won't have art. (plus other students) If that happens, I'll go to a different school.
But the number one reason why school is terrible for me atleast is the bullying and how I'm treated. I can barely go straight through the hallways without having something yelled at me like "tranny" or whatever. I feel unsafe in my school because I know people talk about me and have threatened me before. No student should feel unsafe in the place where they are being educated. The school administration has been telling me since my freshman year that they will do something about it but over time it has gotten worse.
Plus my school doesn't let me use the main restrooms which sucks. Of course I use a separate bathrooms which completely separates me from the other students and makes me feel outed. I just wanna use the boys room and get over w/ it. Annnnnd if you didn't think everything was bad, I'm not allowed to play sports. I haven't been allowed to try out because of how uncomfortable players and couches have made me. I am going to be a senior and this year I just gave up. They think that hormones will give me an advantage when it won't???? I'm not even on T yet.
On the upside, I like learning new things and taking advantage of certain things I learn. Most of the teachers are supportive and thats good I guess.
I just cannot wait to graduate next year and do what I want.

 

I have an amazing teacher that I can talk about really debatable topics and one day it's on the subject of school. I asked him what's really the point in going to school?

He then proceeded to tell me that it doesn't matter. Down the road we aren't going to look back now and see anything of what we've done now to be essential to our lives. The point of going through school is to diversify us and condition us to be able to do something later in life with whatever we want. It doesn't matter to what we're learning, it's how we're learning it that's the essential part. Like come on, we're not going to HAVE to know the tangent inverse to find the the missing side of a triangle, it's just not needed. The part about it is drawing out how we're learning it. It's also why in a lot of schools, you can go from learning about poetry at noon, to working out at one, then play an instrument at two. It's teaching us the diversity of life and the future choices we're going to have to make.

But yea, that's just some info and how I gained a new perspective of our academic system.

I love my school.

It's been around since the 50s and since I love old buildings I get hyped when I walk through the original buildings, plus I love to think about the social atmosphere at that school during the 50s and 60s.

Not to mention, it's the first school I've gone to where both of my brothers have attended in the past. (I didn't go to the same elementary or middle schools as they did back ages ago).
Since there's still teachers from the early 2000s left (yes my brothers are THAT old), some of them know me. I had my APHG teacher shook bc she had one of my brothers and told me that I'm literally nothing like him lololol.
I met a lot of coolio friends at this school that came from a different middle school and honestly thank God for them bc not to sound like a shady bitch, I don't really like some of the ppl I hung out with in middle school. This year I really learned that friends are beneficial to having a good time at school.
We have STEM at this school and I'm friends with literally most STEM kids and it's the funnest thing ever ngl. They're more than just nerds, they're really cool ppl to hang out with.
The extracurricular activities here are bomb. Our football team sucks, both JV and varsity, unfortunately. But hey it doesn't matter because... marching band!! I'm in marching band and let me tell you, it's actually the fucking best I love marching band. I'm also in indoor winds. Us music people are literally such a tight-knit family, it's amazing, despite having literally 150 students in the band. I'm in academic bowl too and it's really fucking fun we're all literal nerds lmao.
WE HAVE TWO FOOTBALL FIELDS ON CAMPUS HAHAHAH. One of them is a practice field (which is literally in between east and west campus and it's funny bc we have to cross it if we wanna get from one campus to the other)


But yeah I love my school ngl

Probably one of the down sides is that there aren't any cute boys:/

my school is generally ok, there are over 3,200 kids and they still (somehow) managed to cater for everyone. there are three campuses, all based on age / year level i'm on the middle campus. (7/8 - 9/10 - 11/12 ) it's really easy to make friends, despite being in australia it is a homophobia / transphobia free-zone. we usually do a lot of fundraisers, good community and the teachers are good. but anyways, i love my friends so much. they mean the world to me and to see them everyday at school, is truly the best. the work load is average - we must get homework if we haven't finished the set work in class. however there are a lot of tests which can be annoying but you have to live with it. a lot of sports teams. i've been able to be in two sports already over the two terms (softball / soccer), there are a lot of good clubs and it's really easy to catch up with work. i think it's just my school, but i actually really enjoooooyyyy it.

 

YOUR LUCKY, MY SCHOOL HAS FRIENDS WHO THINK THEY ARE EVERYTHING.

 

I mean school isn't that bad, I dislike a few things about my school but it's generally just some of the teachers that sucks.
Some teachers just can't control the students, some are good as hell and others couldn't give a damn about the class and are literally not doing anything

But hey!!! I get to see my lovely friends everyday which is good and the school is actually okay when I learn something lol.
Homework isn't that bad and stress isn't bothering me anymore so yea (:
