Respect

Hello, players.

Today I was on the server and I met a guy without any kind of respect.
He started insulting me and so I did back.

Of course, he doesn't know me so I said I have PTSD.
PTSD is a posttraumatic stress disorder. When I got an attack, I'll start playing games. Like Minecraft without guns.
Later he said, "Your dad raped you, that's why you have PTSD."
That was the least thing he could say to me. I did not care about the moderators at that moment, so I started insulting back. After that, I got muted, for harassment. Just 30 minutes. But what did he get? Not even one warning. He was insulting more than I was. Because he was a donor?

NO, I don't want to make an appeal now. I just want to say, people need more respect for others.

There's a few words I've followed since I have joined this community.

You can choose to ignore their complete arrogance or you can choose to treat them with respect nonetheless. If you react to them, they'll continue. They want you to feel intimidated and they want you to say something in return. However, giving them the opposite reaction, or ignoring them completely, they'll stop.

Because of me remembering that, I managed to get by the last three years, and while I was a helper.

Also, just because someone is a ranked member doesn't mean they're immune. Chances are, they were warned as well. Warnings and bans are never publicly given out because it isn't anyone's business but their own.

I wish you best of luck as you go through the community and encounter arrogant people, just remember what was stated above.

That's bad, but this is the internet. You can't really make them stop.
NEVER react to someone harassing you, it'll just make even more drama. Ignoring them really helps.

You can appeal it here.

And please provide screenshot evidence when writing an appeal.
That way we can handle this situation.

And we have a command on the server that you can report players for hacking or scamming and etc.
Do /report [player] [reason]
this would notified the staff members who are currently online on the server.

 

Additionally, players are given verbal warnings before they actually receive warning points. As a witness, I can assure you that the situation you are speaking of was dealt with. Private message me if you have any questions.

 

Next time, perhaps try searching for help, instead of just insulting back. Even if you have the chance and courage to insult back, it doesn't mean you should.

 

This is one of the worst things you can do on the internet. Never tell someone you have a weakness so they might feel compasion for you, they will destroy you. If I would say to someone "I have asperger syndrome", someone will absolutely not let it slip and will insult me to the ground.

When you are in a discussion which goes out of hand, take screenshots of everything, even the parts where you insulted someone. Staff members are human, they will understand why you got mad. And yes, if they think you went too far, they will warn you, but the punishement will be less hard because they will understand where it came from. I think its a bit weird that the other person didn't get warned, so I assume that you didn't show the whole conversation you had with him or that the other person lies (to keep up his "good name"). Them being a donor isn't a reason for staff to not punish someone, its just bullshit. Staff treats everyone the same, donors, nondonors, popular people, even friends. Staff are in a neutral role when they are doing their job.

Next time when someone starts insulting you, ignore the person and report. Yes it is hard to ignore someone, but you can always turn off chat. If someone disrespects you, don't be disrespectfull to them, even if they don't deserve respect, you will turn into the bad guy too.

 

Obviously, everyone, should be treated with the same respect, and this is already a conversation that has been floating around the forums now since the start. Unfortunately, us donors face "discrimination" (if that's what you can even call it) just because we "payed for a rank on a block game". Looking at it differently, it's not just a block game, rather a place where we share and express our thoughts through blocks, and on this server, of course I am willing to donate my money for the success of the people that run it, because they're amazing, and I wish the best for them. Back to the topic, as someone has already stated above, you should certainly make an appeal, and if this happens again, don't bother to respond, and take it to the forums.
ANYONE, on the forums would be glad to help if you're going through a scenario like this again.

I don't care what anyone says. If someone started to talk to me like that, there is no way I would ignore that because that's a human being thinking it's okay to talk to someone else like that. You should stand up for yourself, not insult. There isn't room to say to be the "bigger person" because they are hitting it where it hurts and its hard to look past the kind attitude towards a shitty person.

Also, if that's what he really said, you should have noticed a warning right away because no one deserves to be talked to like that. I don't think I would even have considered a verbal and just went straight for the warn, but I'm not a staff member anymore.

Well, when I see those kind of kid's in parkour etc, I know how they feel.
My friend was just like that, and he say's that it's fun to swear because it's funny to see what people's reactions are. Honestly when I see them, I just tell them "Stop swearing for attention, it won't do any good. I hope your guardian(s) won't check your logs." Because I can tell they are some ten year old messing around, because they usually use bad words in inappropriate grammar usage. So just tell them to stop, and if they don't get a staff member or if you are a staff member, handle it any way you like. Also, don't let it offend you. Just think that they are a nine year old trying to have fun with swearing. I usually laugh when I see this.

 

I would like to clarify a few things.

My own sister has PTSD herself, so I used to deal with her emotions & struggles almost every day of the week. So I quite understand how you feel, however every single player on this server receives the same punishments as everyone else regardless of your rank, race, age, gender and so anyone's "disorder" as well.
It's no different from in real life. Everyone has to enforce the same exact rules, even if you have a "disorder" or any other problems you're suffering from.

My advice to you, next time when you fall in such situation again, please don't hesitate to use /report or by contacting a staff member. And if you're starting to lose control over your emotions, step away from your computer and try to do something else instead that may calm you down.

I hope you still enjoy this server, despite of the fools who only create toxicity.

This thread shouldn't even exist, tbh.

 

First of all, you don't usually know if they got a warning or not, so he most likely got a warning point for harassment.

Secondly, this person used your disorder as an advantage. NEVER tell anyone your weakness. They'll always knock you down if you tell them something that makes you weaker.

Additionally, responding to insults with insults is never a good idea. Just ignore it, or /report it. Also, being a donor or not doesn't matter. You both probably both got the same punishment.

This server is home to many toxic people. You just have to deal with it.
