Snow days. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. "What's so bad about snow days?" Well, nothing, actually. It's just that, a couple of things get on my nerves when the school calls your phone and says, "We're having a snow day." First of all, people expect those snow days to be a day where you can catch up on homework, work in the snow, gain some extra money shoveling driveways. I don't normally do those things. I usually like to sit back and relax. They gave me a free day, after all. But most parents expect their children to be frolicking in the snow like squirrels. Don't get me wrong, I love playing in the snow, but I have this fear that I may get severe frostbite, so I am always trying to cut down my outdoor time to as short as possible. Additionally, since you have a snow day, if you haven't finished any bit of your homework, whoopsies! You won't be chilling, you'll be writing essays and trying to figure out the length and width of "X." And again, if you want to gain extra money to save up for something, shoveling your neighbor's driveways are always good ideas. But what if you really can't keep that promise? What if your friends come over and ask if you want to hang out in the snow? Finally, the lack of school. This week, we've had two snow days so far, and Friday, we have off. I know many of you are saying, "But I hate school!" If you want to ever get a good college or a good job, then... School is the best thing you could ask for. Right now, I could be studying for my test. However, snow days are pretty good for relaxing or catching up on sleep. Me, I haven't slept well yesterday. I stayed awake until 3 AM, and woke up at 7:20 AM. Only four hours of sleep is pretty bad. So, I'd like to catch up on sleep. Also, most of my friends have snow days. So, I could ring them over and ask if they wanted to play video games. Sometimes, snow days can be good as well. What do you think? Are snow days your cup of coffee? Or are they cold as ice? super cheesy end ik
The only thing that stresses me about snow days is the part where it melts. 90% of the time, I would slip and fall. -.-
I like snow days, especially if we haven't had them often like I haven't this winter. Yeah, shovelling snow can be a pain, but it can get you some money and some exercise at the same time. I really appreciate/like snow days as a whole because I can catch up on stuff, get the sleep I desperately need, and overall relax. Just the thing is, I believe most schools give out a few limited snow days. For me, if we exceed those amounts then we start summer vacation late, which is really a bummer.
You guys have no idea how lucky you are hahaha The last time it snowed where I live was in 2014, and before that it was in the seventies. It did rain katyushas in 2006 though :')
I love any day off school. Instead of catching up on work, I'll literally spend the whole day in bed with cranberry juice and watch movie after movie. It's so chill, especially recently with all the exams; downtime is nothing I will reject.
I think it would be better for your education if you had the entire winter off rather than the entire summer off. This is because if you had the entire winter off you would have longer to go on a holiday during the Christmas break, as well as you wouldn't have nearly as many snow days meaning more days that you can attend school. Also, your school year would end at the end of the year rather than half way through the year. I wouldn't know if there is a better reason for having your summer off rather than winter, though. pls dont triggered
Just chill and catch up on some sleep. Unfortunately, I've never had any snow days to do so. I remember I used to bike through thick snow and go on slippery roads, even then we wouldn't get the day off. Also, snow has become kinda limited, so it doesn't really matter. =/
