Lack Of Staff

Not all players can record hackers, and they shouldn't have to record them.

I've had experience with staff simply ignoring my reports in /report, so I'm not sure inactivity is the only problem here.

 

We need quality over quantity

As much as we'd like to hire staff from every timezone, most of them are not eligible nor quality enough to become a staff member (Sorry to crush your dreams. But if you want to apply, go do it. Nothing is stopping you.)

While we're on the topic, there is always going to be a gap in timezones, no matter what. Don't expect staff to always be on

 

I used to stand by you on this, until I had my share as staff. It is HARD to have a sufficient amount of staff online in the morning of American timezones because everywhere else it is school hours, dinner time, they're asleep, or they're starting homework and after school activities.

You can't expect staff to be online all hours of the day. Do what has been said. Record and report via forums, it's most recommended over /report anyways.

 

If you guys are that upset about the hackers then make a Staff App.

 

How do you know staff are ignoring your reports?

Anyone who does not understand this or doesn't understand how difficult it is to create a staff team that is operating around the clock,
should exit the thread and continue on being pestered by cheaters.

 

Everything would be great if things went like clockwork but it doesn't. This isn't a shift ''job''. If it's anything like it was before, staff receive a lot of reports, and by staff I mean, two or three have to cover tens of reports every 5 minutes. I know it sucks that staff can't get on all the time but I wouldn't worry about it entirely. I'd just take note of the cheaters' name and just notify a staff member that is on that server later on in the day so they can check on them if they come across them. It's great to acknowledge a hacker so I wouldn't beat yourself up over not getting a staff member to find the cheater or being unable to record it. In the worse case scenario just take a note of the hackers' name. Simple :). Just do the best you can to deal with the hacker. There is always a way!

Staff could promote whoever they want but lets be honest. Working with people that haven't got a clue what they are doing is a pain in the ass. I know I sound harsh but really.... Promoting inadequate candidates just leads to backtracking like fixing their mistakes (making the same mistakes consistently that shouldn't be made like 2-3 months into the job). lol.

 

When I report, a staff watches my game :V

 

A few times now we've reported multiple hackers, having nothing done we search for a moderator and they are sitting in another mini-game unoccupied just ignoring them. In the end, the hackers are still banned but we shouldn't have to report the hackers, then have to find a staff member to do the report.

 

We need more staff (Australian times)

 

Here is the thing about that, you can't really know if a staff member is occupied or not. They could be waiting for a player to send evidence, checking the forums or maybe even reviewing the evidence that was sent to them.

 

We have asked if they were busy and they've replied "no".

Even if they had been busy prior to us asking, they should have begun to deal with the reports after they had finished what they were doing.

I know from my time as a staff member that there are certain staff who just ignore reports, this shouldn't happen.

 

From my experience so far, timezone coverage seems to be decent.
It wavers in my timezone, which hopefully I can help aide but there's usually another Staff alongside myself.

However I haven't be observing long enough to make an official statement on behalf of our timezone but it has immensely improved since 7 months ago.

I suppose an improvement is alerting players when their reports are actually being dealt with. I know not knowing quite annoyed me.
Staff can let you know but it isn't mandatory.

 

The thing is, you're not a staff member anymore. Things may have changed in the staff team since you left it. You can't just assume things from one or two experiences. You're generalizing the whole staff team in the view of one or two staff members.

 

I've seen both sides of the story, both as a staff an as a non-staff.

During my time of resignation at the end of 2016, I did send a few reports and I did not get replies. What I am saying is, there are two sides to this story and I see where everyone is coming from. In the big picture, staff can never be 100% active. I personally would encourage threads like this, since the staff team could use constructive criticism.

I don't mean to discredit any staff that have replied above, or the "heroes" we have, but we do encourage the community to discuss issues (including anything staff related). I get that there is a counterclaim to everything, but we should accept threads like this and account for them rather than make excuses.

 

I'm not generalizing at all, in my post I state that I've only seen certain staff ignoring reports completely. I really don't think much has changed at all since the staff I used to see ignoring reports are the same as those who I've had recent issues with.

Even if the staff team has changed drastically since I resigned, there is still the issue of staff ignoring reports recently.

I understand there are lots of staff who do actually deal with reports, and I respect them for actually doing their job. I'm just focusing on those who don't.

 

So why didn't you bring these issues to light when you were a staff member, or through PM directly talking about each of these case scenarios so that they can be dealt with?
