It is discussion, about a rank, on the server. It is Server Discussion. It's not "LOL GUYS WHAT SHADE OF PINEAPPLE IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER? LOL"
It looks purple in-game against colors, so people call it purple. Why not just say fuchsia? Of course, that sounds weird...
Actually, you are wrong. Pink's hex code is FFCBDB, and I downloaded your picture and looked up its Hex code which is, FF55FF, which is actually a medium light shade of magenta. So your statement about it not being magenta, is wrong. If you go into a hex decimal color thing, and type in FF00FF, you get Magenta, when you change the 0's to 5's, it makes the color lighter. The example of pink you showed is Hot Pink, which is basically a more saturated Magenta Pink is more like this:

Probably the reason why there's disagreements over it, is because it's right in the middle of them pretty much.
