So i know a lot of People here play Pokemon go and such, I play it too, and the other day i came up with an idea that i feel would be pretty cool for the highly successful game. A lot of us have seen from the trailers that at some point, Legendary pokemon will be added to the game, (Not counting the hacked in ones we saw on facebook and twitter xD) And it gave me an idea on how i believe niantic could market the Legendary pokemon. My idea is that Since common and rare pokemon are usually found in neighborhoods and Towns, I feel the Legendary pokemon should be set in certain locations to boost tourism and going to places. Here's what i have so far. Articuno: Located Either in the Mountains of Canada, or Alaska. mostly near populated areas like Vancouver or Anchorage. Zapdos: He would be found in the California mountains, as that's where the fabled stories of the Thunderbird came from. My guess is that he would be found in Yosemite national park. Moltres: He would be found near the Mauna loa volcano in Hawaii. I thought it would be fitting. Mewtwo: He would be found on the outlying areas of Area 51, many miles out from the base so that people don't go near the gates of the facility. Mew: Mew would be the Only pokemon in the game that could travel to different locations, So it would be harder to get. So far i havent come up with a place for it yet. Generation 2 update: Entei: He would be found near Mount Fuji in Japan, Even though its not an active volcano, i still think the place would be fitting. Raikou: I havent come up with something yet, But i felt he would be located somewhere in Tornado alley in the midwestern USA. If anyone has a better Idea let me know please. :) Suicune: This pokemon would be found near Lake Erie in Michigan, and it only comes out at a certain time. Lugia: He would be found off the coast of Okinawa island in Japan, I thought it was fitting. Ho-oh: He would be found near the Castle in Osaka, Japan. Either that or the Meiji shrine. What do you guys think, would this be a good idea? let me know in this thread!
ehh, it would be cool but its not realistic. i dont see the point of having to go all around the world just to get a pokemon. im cool with the way it is now, them being in my area. and traveling is a lot of money. what about the people who cant afford to travel to japan or alaska or hawaii. it would make the game unfair and not fun. but A+ for creativity
I understand what your saying, it would be a bit tedious to go across the world to look for a Legendary pokemon, but at the same time it would attract a lot of tourism.
i dont think it would attract that much tourism, because i dont know many people who would go overseas just for a dumb game. its a lot of money
I don't doubt there would be people who would spend all their life savings to go to a place because of a free app and end up not finding the legendary pokemon anyway.
I approve of this message. Seriously though that's not a bad idea, because legendaries are supposed to be hard to get. Mew might be found somewhere tropical, because in the original Pokemon movie, they search for them in the jungle. Actually, there's already a few region-exclusive Pokemon. IIRC you can only get Mr. Mime in Europe for example. Edit: Minor text fixes.
Pokemon is a Japanese show, so why don't we make it so you can only find pokemon in Japan! Problem solved
Props to Star for this, There actually is places where certain pokemon are obtainable, Like in australia, you can get the pokemon Kangaskhan. Alright, I've got a few more for this idea. Enjoy. :) Generation 3 Update Regirock: He would be found near one of the Aztec temples of Mesoamerica, Not sure of a specific location yet. Regice: Like articuno, Regice would be found in the Mountains of Canada, but would be harder to get than Articuno. Registeel: He would be found at the Carlsbad caverns national park in New mexico. But only on the outside. Kyogre: He would be found near the beaches of the eastern United states in the Atlantic ocean. There is intentionally no specific location as Kyogre would travel to different parts of the eastern coastline. Groudon: He would be found at Mount Vesuvius in Italy. But like kyogre, can travel to many cities surrounding the Volcano. Rayquaza: This one would be the hardest to get. Rayquaza can travel across countries like the other 2, but will only arrive at specific locations every year. these locations would be Kennedy Space center Mauna kea observatories in Hawaii European southern Observatory in Garching bei munchen, Germany Different parts of europe including Spain, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France. Deoxys: He would also be incredibly hard to find, as he only appears in Roswell, New mexico. the site of the fabled UFO crash site. I also forgot a few others, So here they are. Celebi: This pokemon would be found in Sequoia national park in California. Latias/Latios: These two would be found travelling the Great plains in North america. They show up randomly in different states, such as Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and so forth.
I think Regirock - Stonehenge Regice - Bottom of Mount Everest And for gen 4 Uxie - Somewhere in the Canary Islands Mesprit - Roams between cities that have hosted the olympics Azelf - That red rock in Australia Regigas - You would need all 3 other regis and I think at wherever you caught the last regi Dialga - North Pole Palkia - South Pole I mean, they are polar opposites Giritina - Roaming around south america Arceus - Roaming Kenya, as it is belived to be where humanity started Cresselia - Appears when you reach level 30 Darkrai - Chernobyl Heatran - Mount Vesuvius Also you forgot Jirachi

Cresselia: This pokemon would be able to roam freely across the World, just like in it's respective game. but the catch is that it's extremely hard to find and has a low percent chance of appearing in the sightings list. Regigigas: He would be found at the Ancient temples in Athens, Greece. Shaymin: She would be found at the Carlsbad ranch in California. Darkrai: He would be found at the famous Bran Castle (a.k.a Dracula's Castle) in Romania. Dialga & Palkia: Both of them would be found in Barcelona, Spain but only appear once every year. Azelf: This pokemon would be found at Ayers Rock in Australia (Credit to @DeoxysPvP for this Idea) Mesprit: This pokemon would be found in Greece, where the first olympics were Held. Uxie: This pokemon would be found at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. but is extremely hard to find Giratina: This devilish Pokemon would be found near the Tower of London in the UK, one of the most Haunted places in England. Arceus: This would be the most Rarest pokemon out there to Find, It would be located near Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican city, but Only appears Every year during Easter, and Christmas eve.
