Hey, it's Star. You might know me around here for being the one that makes a lot of jokes and overall is just a really silly person, but I can make serious threads, too. This is one of those threads.

I'm not in the best of moods right now, but at the same time, I feel a surge of motivation. You see, I've come to a realization of sorts and it's kind of been an eye opener. I don't know if this eye opener will last very long considering I'm bad at making commitments, but while I have it fresh on my mind, I figured I should share it.

Now, this is kind of a motivational thing I guess. It might be a bit cheesy, idk, but if anybody takes anything from it, then that's great.

Think back to when you were a baby. Not just at any time when you were a baby, but when your parents first brought you home and put you into your crib. They looked down at you, and they smiled with tears of joy in their eyes. Do you know what they were thinking at this moment?

"Our child is going to do great things for the world."

Flash forward to today, and look at yourself in the mirror. Think about what you've been doing with yourself. Is what you're spending your time on really worth it? Is your mom proud of you?

I thought about this earlier today. "I'm lazy and hardly have a real job." "I spend all my time on my laptop, phone, or in my room." "What have I been doing to myself?" And you know what? Realistically, my parents probably aren't that proud of me.

Thinking about that makes me realize that I can turn myself around, and I'm going to start that by trying to get more exercise. Baby steps, but it's for my own good and the greater good.

My point is, your parents saw potential in you from day one, and even if you aren't using it right now, you still have that potential. Don't waste your whole life doing pointless things like skipping school to go to parties or playing MC 24/7/365. If you waste too much of your time, it'll come back to bite you in the ass later. And it'll bite hard.

Be the successful person your parents saw in you from day one, not the wasted bum passed out on the sidewalk.

Thanks for reading, and if you took something from this, then I'm glad. :)

Also, try to keep the jokes in your replies to a minimum please.

You honestly speak the truth Star. What you said was pretty motivational, ive seen people both in real life and on MC who simply do not care about there lives.

Thats why i care so much about our generation. Your parents want you to be successful. So make them as happy as you can. :)

On leap years like this it would be 24/7/366. But anyway, you make a lot of good points in this thread.

    I couldn't agree more.

I don't want to sound all "Woe me" but it's hard to do anything where I live. Rural Illinois in a town, covering about a square mile, with less than 500 people, about 5 of which are my friends. I can't really do anything outside of school that benefits anyone, including me. I can go on walks, practice softball, and go to the park if there's anyone there, but that's about it. I draw, play games, and do chores when I'm bored. I know that sounds lazy, but what else can I do? I'm thinking about joining an online math academy thing or something, since I'm not doing anything. My major problem is that I'm not motivated.

So how do I fix this?
    1) I don't. Can't. Won't.
The only thing I can do is go into a town or something, which costs about $15. And that would be on an every other day basis.
    2)Move?
Not enough money, too many trust issues, too many friends here, and too much stress.

Well, if you would find it fulfilling, you could try to get a part-time job. I don't know what the labor laws are like in Illinois, but where I live you can work at McDonald's or something at a younger age than a lot of places (14).
If you have a big goal that you want to get, don't expect to be able to do it right away. Take baby steps. You can't put on a whole play without practicing it. Same goes with anything.

Trust me, I make the mistake of thinking I can do shit right away too, but I didn't learn to play a guitar overnight. It took me 6 months and I still suck at it.

The closest place would be Dairy Queen, but that's still too far away. My dad is going to open up a gun shop soon, so I'll be working there.

The thing is that I don't have many major goals.
    1) Be a pitcher in softball
    2) Get Valedictorian
    3) Go to collage for engineering
I'm not like most kids. I don't want to have kids (in the future; I'm not going to be a teen mom), be some kind of high paid social thingy (model, actress, etc.), and I don't want to be popular or well known.

Working at your dad's shop is a good place to start. And just keep practicing soft ball. Maybe join a baseball team at your school when the year starts again.
