Personally, I think that EULA does kind of make sense. I mean, it's unfair to BUY skill and "special" privelages. I know EULA means more than that, but it's kind of the main part. Post your opinion on EULA under here.
The EULA is there for a reason, and for servers, Mojang is issuing a "get back in line or get the fuck out" order. Whether you like it or not, Mojang is cracking down on servers to end P2W.
I don't mind what the EULA is doing, but I don't like the process Mojang did it. The EULA was always here, but apparently it wasn't effective until now. What I also don't like is the fact that Mojang doesn't care for the server's economy. By doing this, Mojang obviously knows that it will be a major setback on server income, but whilst it does not matter to Mojang unless they get their money. Also note that the EULA isn't for all gameplay affecting variables. From what I know, EULA only states that the commands that Mojang created (such as /fly) are not available for purchase. For example, people buy /fly. It is gameplay affecting, and it is also property of Mojang (since Mojang created /fly), therefore they have every right to disallow any use of their content. However, commands that affect gameplay made by plugin developers won't be removed (for example, buying different islands on Skyblock).
Mojang should be able to do whatever the fuck they want because it is their game. They have full control with what happens to the servers. They don't want people to spend money towards items in their game and get 0% of the proceeds. You may think that you're "helping the server out" by donating but in reality the servers are getting a TON of profit from selling perks and items while Mojang is getting none of the money.
the eula they should remove it becuase servers are ment to have fun and people who buy stuff well just get it taken i think they sdhould remove it
I totally agree I mean your playing their game so they have the right to do whatever they want if you don't like it then stop playing the game
Yet you're playing their game? Wouldn't you be pissed if someone else was making money of your game and you aren't getting any of the profit? It would be completely different if these servers were not-for-profit, like donating the money to charitable organizations or giving the profit to Mojang, but these server owners are pretty much living off the "donations" that they receive. I'm pretty sure this could be considered copyright infringement by making money off someone else's work. Mojang has every right to do what they're doing. I'm surprised that they're not enforcing the EULA as much as they should be. Also, servers were always meant to just play with friends or play minigames. Not buying perks. To be honest, the only reason they would/should remove the EULA is if all the profit (not put towards the server) is given to Mojang
