Very true, thanks for pointing this out. A simple suggestion/opinion/reference (in a thread) that other people don't like can just start a flamewar. It's pretty sad, people come on here to discuss stuff, talk to their friends, and everything else we do on a Minecraft forum. We shouldn't come on here and see people fighting over threads and using gifs/sass/flat our rude language/attitude to make points.
First of all I am amazed that you've shown bravery to post this thread, thank you about that. Now here's the thing, Each of us is unique, we have different minds and talent that one doesn't have. It would be weird if all of us has the same talent, same thinking and same actions. People who likes the specific object or game or etc. are addicted to it let's say the game Minecraft that we obviously like. We like the game so much we are defending it like a human, other words we are defending it as we think it has its own feelings, the community's feelings. Flame wars start as a based opinion of a person. If they say it suck, other people who saw it will say it doesn't or it really does. If they say it's cool, other people who saw it will say it suck or its cool. They all go in the same effect and can be end by the staff member/someone or can end while it lasts. Let's hope that flame wars will be avoided mostly in the community :)
I admit I have started these kind of flame wars before... actually not long ago however just something to add on these flame wars.. players can start flame wars if they really intend to because I know some flame wars start not because of someone liking a video game or not but I know some flame wars has started because of serious reasons and can get to a point of someone wanting to hack the other person for there Identity ext.. when I said earlier players can start flame wars I don't mean they can start flame wars in chat making other players not happy. there is something called /msg where they can start the flame war between themselves and if they decided its a group fighting they can do it in /fr. I am totally against them but I am just giving the players that will not listen to your thread and will continue to start flame wars other options and ways to do it such as msg and fr, so that they don't annoy the community. thank you for your bravery of making this thread.
Flame wars start from opinions. Opinions start from people with brains and fingers. Everyone can start a flame war. You can't stop them unless you altogether removed replying. That would be very boring...
While on the subject of flame wars, I'd like to point out this severe difference which needs to be notified: Debates v. Flamewars. As said by the OP, is a "fight" started by an opinion. Debates are similar in the same way. Debates are quite beneficial, strengthening arguements, counter-arguements, and ideologies. I'd like to ask the OP, the staff team, and anyone else reading this post to follow this criteria for distinguishing debates and flame wars: All instances of the nature where opinions are challenged is to be labed as a debate, unless (A)an opinion based on the opponent is used, (B)a direct insult to the opponent or their ideas are used, or (C)where the topic has deluded into a completely different topic. Examples(Topic is FNAF World): A)I really do not like you, _____, and I think you're a scumbag. B)Your ideas make me want to barf and feed myself to the pigs. C)Hey, the Sonic Fandom isn't totally bad!
Thank you for stating about how dumb flame war topics are dumb. Many Undertale fans are waaaaaayyyy to idiotic and overprotective of the game. So keep this in mind. Flame wars are bad kids.
