How much longer will this server exist?

Not trying to be rude here but how much longer do you guys this server will exist? Not many players online rn http://prntscr.com/acltrz but also somewhere later at the day the online cound doesn't get much higher than 1000 :p

I remember this server used to be one of the biggest mc servers there exist :p

When ever there is no end to Minecraft unless Microsoft stuffs it up.

 

No players = No donations = No money = No server

 

I guess it is true. Many servers die out like this.

 

I think this server is getting to that point aswell sooner or later. It goes downhill already in the past 2+ years

A year or two... then the whole server will be filled with mostly helpers and like 10-20 actual players. :(

 

Hm you could be right, but as @ItsHarry said, this server still runs on 1.8 and not everyone is overly fond of 1.9 so I dont know.
But to be fully truthful, I don't think this server is going anywhere anytime soon.

 

They could be off peak hours for the USA. But sometimes they're peak hours for those in Europe and Asia and maybe even Australia. Even though there are a lot of players in the USA. There are also a good amount of players in those areas I stated above.

But I do believe this server is losing players slowly. Even when taking into account the new update (which from what I've seen, a huge amount of people aren't very fond of) there just isn't a healthy amount of players any more on this server.

I remember when I used to look at the server and the players for my time (Europe) would be hitting 6 to 7 hundred. Now at times it's barely reaching 500 and if that count goes higher, it doesn't exactly last long.

 

I dont believe the server is going anywhere. Its ultimately up to Jerry and Harry whether the server stays or not. Plus its still 1.8, they've got a lot of work to do before they update to 1.9 :p

Plus People dont always have time to be on the server cause of school and life responsibilities.

It might not seem like the servers not as busy as we all remember, but you just got to take some of the stuff i said into consideration.

 

well not all people have the time to play anymore between school, life stuff, growing up, and other things. But over the years i have been playing i'm realizing that, yes the server has lost tons of players but that makes room for more and more new playing to come into the server and let their friends know about it. I bet soon there server will start gaining the people we have lost. I love this server but yes.. over the past few years the server has gone downhill but Jerry and Harry cant spend their whole life fixing EVERY little thing that has gone wrong or just rebuild the whole thing. AT LEAST we have this amazing server. Have a good rest of the night/day/afternoon. :):p

 

I think the Minecraft golden era is gone.
It's still making a huge impact in the gaming world, like it's really hard for someone NOT to know Minecraft, but just like all games there will be less players each year, until it becomes a retro game.

And necessarily, this isn't a bad thing. Games come and go, and Minecraft is still going to be big blocks on a screen, while new games are heading into VR and new engines. Minecraft just can't compete when it comes to the evolving industry. If Mojang was smart, it'd work on a new game. One which will be like Minecraft, but with a goal, a new engine, and be soley Human v. Human singleplayer, instead of Human v. World.

 

Hopefully we just don't upgrade to the terrible 1.9. Thanks owners.

 

I don't find it so bad. The PvP cool down thing only makes things more fun for players who aren't perfect PvPers and can't jiggerclick. The fact that you can hold two things at a time is also cool, why so much hate towards the update?

 

Gameplay can be slowed down. As I saw of the snapshots.

 

The answer to your question is simple actually. The server will still be up, if there is still a community to play it.

The main reason of the low number of players recently was because of 1.9/time zones possibly. And don't forget some players can't get on the server during a work day (Monday-Friday).

 

Damn, I haven't seen numbers that low since I first joined.

Generally though, we do get a lot more players. That's probably a bad day because I see a lot of people on when I'm on.

However, the server will last as long as the donations do.
